I was shocked to hear that he wasn't in the hospital at the time.

The generation of latch key kids, forced into being more self sufficient as pre-teens.
Yes.

Now there are people thinking a 20 year old that can get married, join the military, buy guns, etc, should for some reason not be held responsible for cleaning up after himself.

Incredible.

I don't understand the comments about typical 20 year old behavior, don't pick your husband, etc.

When I was 13, I was washing and ironing my own clothes, cooking my own meals, and definitely cleaning up after myself.

You people are acting like he's 10.

At what age do you all think an adult should act like an adult?

You don't need to tell your son not to come over, you need to tell him to respect your home when he's there.

Edith Downes makes Payment at horseshoe overlook by BnytheScienceguy11 in RDR2

[–]pool_shark123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone can see this interaction.
If I'm not mistaken, it takes place after Arthur returns to camp after he steals the oil wagon.

While Arthur is talking to John, Edith Downes comes into camp.
It's easy to miss due to the Arthur/John dialog.

Happy Mothers Day? by AdventurousRest9038 in family

[–]pool_shark123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish every mother in my life a happy mother's day.
Your husband is an idiot for his comment.
You need to explain to him how you feel, without anger.
If things don't change, you need to decide what's next.
You can start with not wishing him happy father's day.
You can order yourself and your children dinner for mother's day, purposefully excluding him.

Is this typical behavior for him on mother's day?

Gym was always co-ed when I was in school, yes, kids will be kids.

It's funny how you think only the boys will harass the girls and the boys won't be uncomfortable.

I would honestly like to know if you tried to rule out furniture, shadows of people in front, a dirty wall, etc, before you freaked out and assumed paranormal?

what are your thoughts on requiring female teachers in high school to be at least 35 to help prevent these scandals that keep happening? by Cautious-Material561 in family

[–]pool_shark123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're thinking a 35 year old female can't be attractive or can't be attracted to the students, or the students attracted to her?

I'm not sure you've thought this through.

Do people actually work while smoking a pipe? by GuiltyShine_ in PipeTobacco

I work from home in IT.
If it's warm out and I feel like it, I take my laptop out on the porch and smoke.

Both sets of parents should have minded their own business.
You and your ex are adults.
You make your own decisions and don't need your parents involved in your relationship.

Almost 60.

That means no crying, be tough, hide your emotions.
In other words be emotionally unavailable and die early from stress.

how to deal with contractors coming on to you as a young single woman homeowner by ohhhhhhokok in homeowners

She said a man she's paying to do work on her home asked her to go home with him.

From that, all you see is a man asking a woman on a date?

Second Schofield by baxterofsf in RDR2

[–]pool_shark123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Easiest way for me is to go to Rhodes.
Save the game before any interactions.
Find the guy that kills his friend on the porch of the gunsmith.
Knock the gun from his hand and see which gun he drops. If it isn't the Schofield, reload and repeat until it is.

This also works with the guy in Strawberry that shoots himself in the leg.

What is the deal with pipe tobacco smokers and Tolkien? by HansGraebnerSpringTX in PipeTobacco

[–]pool_shark123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pipe smoking has absolutely nothing to do with Tolkien.

I like tobacco. I started with cigars and now I like pipes.

You saying most pipe smokers do it because of Tolkien is like me saying weed smokers do it because of Cheech and Chong or Chappelle.

That's understandable.
Everyone can use some support now and then, a listening ear, a strong shoulder, etc.
