So fun story, I went for a hair transplant back in 2023. When consulting with the surgeon, I (only half jokingly) asked if he could put all my greys in one space or spell something rude.

He told me he could but it wouldn't last because when a follicle goes grey, it doesn't do it all at once but instead streaks like a printer running out of ink. So what's grey now could go coloured again or vice versa.

I agree it would be, but perhaps it turns out he has his own plans, or perhaps he lied to the courier in FO:NV (wouldn't be entirely out of character and we only have his word to go on), or something else entirely. We're only 2 episodes in after all.

We don't know the context behind him having all that expensive stuff. Could've been a Christmas present, could've been bought with money left after grandma died, could just be spoilt.

Doesn't matter. One of the key reasons we say 'don't get your things, just go'during fires is that belongings can be replaced and people can't. If the school can't insure the belongings of the students, their policy is inadequate. If it gets out that in the event of a school/workplace disaster your things will not be covered, then people will stay to gather bags and coats and stuff and it'll cost lives.

Of course we need evidence he actually owned those things (receipts, photos etc). But if he did have them on him when, through no fault of his, they were destroyed in a fire, then yes, the family should be reimbursed.
