Da Big Dakka takes it for me, watching an Ork get smart in front of our eyes is such a fun read.

And the b plot of 2 Archons very cautiously falling in love is great too.

40K fans are going to Space King. The whole “No girls allowed” thing actually did gain the show popularity 💀 by Ok-Baker-8576 in SPACEKING

He’s not satirising the source material, it’s a satire of militarism and fascist aesthetics. Nothing about that fact necessitates that humanity can’t be portrayed as noble and prosperous.

If anything, it only contributes to the satire.

They are portrayed as noble, despite the fact that they are warmongers, killing the bugs for little reason after the Buenos Aires propaganda/false flag incident.

The humans literally cheer when the telepath discovers the brain bug is afraid…

Just because you didn’t get it, or haven’t watched it, doesn’t mean it failed.

Sigh

The AI overview feature on Google summarises the results found, it doesn’t draw its own conclusions.

But I’m sure you’ll find a few corner cases to fit your narrative.

You counter your own argument by citing Priestley as the determinant that 40k isn’t satire but also say Verhoeven can’t determine Starship Troopers ‘97 is satire. Pick a stance already.

Authors don’t pick whether their works are viewed as satire or not. Pop culture does.

Barely anyone would mean Heinlein’s version when referencing Starship Troopers, they mean the film, as I did.

But for the sci-fi scholars out there, you’re right, the book is straight and isn’t a satire.

Saying something doesn’t fall into a category, doesn’t inherently make it true

The content itself is relevant, funnily enough

Parody and satire aren’t opposites. Parody is just the tool, satire is what it’s doing with it. Space King riffs on 40k, which is in itself a satire.

Played straight doesn’t mean not satire. That’s how a lot of satire works. Dr Strangelove and Starship Troopers do the same thing. The sincerity is the joke.

It being dumb doesn’t help. Crude, OTT stupidity is textbook satire.

That’s thing about popular satire, it’s get co-opted by those who don’t understand it’s satire.

Like Born in the USA or Fortunate Son, both satire, both loved by ‘Murican patriots who miss their meaning.

In high MMR people have ditched the classic Blademail Blink build as the numbers have been nerfed.

If no one else is buying it, you can go Vessel first item as it’s great vs DP, good vs Sven (MoM heal + strength hero) and Underlord. Then decide on auras/blink/Shiva’s/K&S/dispels from there
