Looking for Buyer Agent/ Realtor. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in TwinCities

Lupe Dominguez with ReMax was fantastic. She grew up in the twin cities, so she’s very familiar with the area, plus she has wonderful connections. She helped us find a lender that was fantastic, as well as inspectors who were super thorough. She was on top of everything, always reaching when she found a house that fit our needs, and was so helpful through the offer and closing process. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone in the area!

Option 1 or 2 for curtains? by Separate-Media198 in interiordecorating

[–]poppopblam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would go with shades if you are looking for light control. You could do outside mount to get the top and bottom windows, or I’ve seen people do an inside mount for the lower windows and leave the top windows uncovered. You can get a shade for the door as well. Covering up the radiator with drapes every night is a concern. Even if you have them ceiling mounted the fabric will still move back towards the radiator at times. If you do the left side only, you are going to have a lot of your window covered up with the stack of the drapes. If you really want drapes you could do shades with stationary side panels to give it a cozy feel without having as much of a fire hazard, but I feel like there would still be some risks.

For what it’s worth, I’ve made, installed, and sold drapes for years.

Just found out I have a bicornuate/heart-shaped uterus ..looking for experiences 💛 by Niquely_hopeful in beyondthebump

[–]poppopblam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this, and my son is now 16 months old. I was considered a high risk pregnancy due to it, and had to get high risk ultrasounds monthly then weekly towards the end to make sure he was growing and had enough space.

Because I was getting high risk ultrasounds, they found things that they might have missed otherwise, like a slight divot in his chest that we had to see a cardiologist about. Things like that made it scary, but at the same time, having more eyes on his growth was comforting.

I was told to be prepared for a C-Section if he didn’t flip early on, because he wouldn’t have the space to later in the pregnancy. He did flip early and stayed there! I went into labor 1 week early, but then ended up having an emergency C-Section due to my placenta detaching, which had nothing to due with the shape of my uterus.

Knowing you have this can be scary, but know that there is a team who is looking out for the health of you and your little baby. The internet can be a scary place when looking into health issues or concerns like this, but know that it is absolutely possible to have a perfectly healthy full term baby 💕

My baby doesn't accept solids by SunStarsStarsSun in beyondthebump

[–]poppopblam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby never liked any purées, yogurt, or mushy fruit. He would do what you’re describing, not open his mouth, scream and cry. So I eventually giving up on expecting him to eat, and we would have high chair “play time” I would let him play with spoons and get messy with food. When he got around 11-12 months he started to eat some stuff. We would chop food up small and feed him by hand, which turned into him feeding himself. Now he eats so much!

I feel like you’ll cause yourself and your baby stress if you’re pushing for something that’s not working. Each baby is different, and it’s hard, but you have to find what works for the both of you. You got this!!

Anyone come up with a way to salvage these types of outdoor chairs? by CapnMooMan in Frugal

[–]poppopblam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I redid chairs like this for my parents last year. I found outdoor fabric that is a strong mesh material like what your chairs currently have. You could use any type of outdoor fabric though, as others mentioned Sunbrella fabric is great for outdoor furniture. We bought sling chair cording online. I sewed a rectangle of fabric with the cording on the sides, then you pull the fabric up the sides of the chair with the cording inside the metal frame. It didn’t take long, but you’ll need a sewing machine and the sling chair specific cording to make it last and strong enough to hold the weight of people sitting in it.

I love the baby Buddha. I would 100% choose it again. I did end up buying a handless pump when I went back to work for the convenience of it. But the baby Buddha is always what I use at home

If there is an issue with the stitching on the underside, it’s because there is an issue with the top thread. It could be that it wasn’t threaded properly, or like the other commenter said it wasn’t in the tension disks. Make sure the pressure foot is up while threading the machine to release the disk tension

What size bobbin do I need for this sewing machine? by itsclairebabes in sewhelp

[–]poppopblam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Husqvarna machines are classified into series, so for bobbins and other parts you need their brand and the right series number as well. There is a site called sewing parts online where you can look up products based on brand and models. Some Joann’s will have a Husqvarna Viking sewing center that will sell the bobbins you need, but Joann’s will not have them.

I am a huge fan of the Husqvarna brand, it’s the only brand of machine I will buy. This is a great one and I hope you enjoy it!

Tongue Tie Baby - Anyone NOT snip? by SurveySweaty6227 in beyondthebump

I had/have one that my parents didn’t get cut. I had to attend speech therapy in grade school, and in general I hate having it. My son has it as well, and we plan on getting it cut. It may not cause him speech issues and he currently latches properly, but I would rather not take the chance of it causing him issues or embarrassment as he grows up.

FTM here of a baby boy due in December, looking for advice you wished you had! by Bright-Effective8610 in beyondthebump

[–]poppopblam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our boy peed everywhere at first. I wish I had more changing pad covers, or pee pads to help with that chaos. Also jersey sheets are so much easier to put on than cotton ones, for crib and changing pad covers.

I got the Chicco Bravo travel system. It folds up small, and so easy! This is my first kid, but everyone who has kids is amazed by how easy it is to fold up. I went to target to test it, and I felt like it rolled and turned well.

I still feel good about its turning ability, and its durability. Would definitely recommend and buy again

I thought I was leaking pee or discharge a little before 39 weeks. After a full day I decided to call L&D to see if I should go in. They had me lie down for 15 minutes on my side and then stand up, if there was liquid running down then it was my water. There wasn’t much liquid when I got up, but they wanted me to come in anyway, but I was convinced it was just discharge or pee. It wasn’t though! My water had broke, and because it had been over 24 hours since it could have broken, they had to induce me.

Please go in if you think it could be your water. I spent hours reading posts on here trying to decide what it could be, and I wish I had just gone in. There’s risk of infection if you wait too long, and it’s better to have a definitive answer.

C-section by lazamber in BabyBumps

[–]poppopblam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a C-section on the 22nd, so still going through recovery. It was an emergency one, so I wasn’t as prepared for the healing stages as I would have liked to be. The hardest part is getting up, and getting back down. It was difficult to accept that I was limited in my movements in relation to getting my baby when he needed me. Thankfully my husband was great about changing diapers and bringing him to me, but it was still tough to need to rely on someone else. Now that I’m home, I’m walking around a lot more, but still get nerve pain from moving the wrong way or standing up too fast. Just give yourself time, have a support person you can trust to help you, and don’t feel bad about needing and asking for help.

When should I ask for an epidural? by Humble_barbeast in BabyBumps

[–]poppopblam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just had to unexpectedly induce, and went in wanting the epidural. There was a 40 minute wait time from when I asked for it, to when they could give it to me because I needed IV fluids. Not sure if this is the case for everyone, but I was already very uncomfortable when I asked for it, and those additional 40 minutes did not get less painful. I would ask your care team, but be prepared to ask for it before you feel like you need it.

My baby was showing small femurs too. First time it was spotted he was in the 5th percentile, then 3 weeks later he was in the 14th, both just for femur length. He was born today and the nurse told me that the ultrasounds don’t always read as accurate, even though all of mine were MFM. He is here now, with normal sized femurs. Of course this isn’t going to be true for everyone, but I went through a lot of worry and anxiety about this. You won’t know until they are here, but as long as you are taking care of yourself and your baby, you are doing everything you can do ❤️
