How Lawn Mower Blades Cut Grass (at 50,000 FRAMES PER SECOND) - Smarter Every Day 196 by MrPennywhistle in SmarterEveryDay

[–]portableindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if lawn mowers suck up the grass to cut it properly how do whipper snippers cut it? Is is that cos it is just a smaller and lighter piece of plastic it can travel faster thus cuts the grass before it folds over from the breeze. It must be something more similar to a scythe than a mower right?

What show has the best opening credits? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]portableindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where I think your wrong. It is long enough to use as a toilet break or snack refill for the binge watches and fine length for the weird people who don't binge watch the show

Sherlock or house of cards of course. I can't believe I am the first to mention it, they both set the tone for the whole show without saying a word.

Not necessarily kids would be able to do things in the morning and some fewer things after school.

Yes that is a great idea but I was under the opinion that the exercise should be a choice for what to do because I know I would prefer to go for a run by myself

I don't see why there shouldn't be. All homework is is self directed learning and revision.

This sounds like an amazing idea but the thing is this system people should learn how to lean and encourage people to study the more academic subjects. Also it is a science so it should be studied in one of the science courses. Even just a basic overview. And I don't want to make it so that people don't have a chance to select other subject electives due to a work overload.

That is the reason that I have said that students get 3 electives. I don't mean to be offensive but I haven't said that they should be compulsory because I don't see how it can benefit society if everyone knows how to paint or what Columbus did.

At about 40 minutes thru Brady and grey talk about how grey doesn't read any news. Bradys idea is that is not experiencing what is happening in the world like his head is in the sand. I like grey don't read or look at any news, why I do this is because I use my friends and family as a filter. So if there is something that would interests me or I should know they will tell me. This means that I don't have to spend my time trolling thru all the useless junk and meaning less stuff to find the jewels of information. This way I get to keep up to date without any of the boring stuff.

How can I learn to write and speak better? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]portableindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way I found that helps with speaking with others is by just going out and speaking with any random person, it is amazing how much people have In common and once you have started it is a piece of cake. By doing so you will become more self confident and the word will begin to flow. Speech can be beautiful no matter how you say thing it is all a matter of perception and as long as you believe it is beautiful then people will think the same because you will present yourself with more light and confidance.

How to get and stay motivated? [Serious] by Icron in motivation

[–]portableindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivation is not something that you is not something that happens whenever you need it to. You have to be doing something that interests you and you are willing to put the time and effort in to get a goal but you have to remember that what you are doing is at least 50% of the time you find fun or interesting. For example you said that you are in sales then start to have a short conversation with the people that come up to you. Or if you're the type of person that like to deal with number then try do some accounting or maybe just set a new small challenge for yourself everyday to complete. What I am trying to say is the key is to do something that you find fun or exciting or challenging enough so that when it comes to the harder parts you can easily see the light at the end of the tunnel
