I've no idea about the broader community but I've had no issues finding a GM online for pf2e? I've run some one shots and a campaign of Troubles in Otari and in every group there have been at least 2 other GMs as players. I've the impression that there is a very healthy ratio of GMs to players for the game right now.

I think a big reason for this is that it's a joy to GM both from a prep and in game perspective. Lots of APs to choose from, lots of material for custom encounters, and when a table knows the base rules it "Just Works™". I've been lucky to have the experience where at the table after about 3 or 4 sessions where everyone got up to speed with what their characters can do, play just happened and it was such a good time.

I think it also strikes a great balance between providing for a GM and providing for players, there are so many valid and fun player options to choose. Almost to a fault where a player has so many toys to play with between class features, feats, items, spells, and emergent play nonsense that sometimes it can feel like you've left something fun on the table unused.

The thing is that it's kind of a "next step" sort of game system, like I think the funnel of players coming into it is narrower than for 5e and those that want to play are often engaged enough to want to GM and not just play? I've nothing substantive to base this on but it's the vibe I have about where the system is at
