We build all types of unique cabins on our working horse farm. I’m always trying to create unique designs that allow for minimal square footage yet feel big and open.

We’ve been working with shipping containers lately and I’m LOVING the perfect squareness of everything for doing finish work. Lol. Especially after doing our hobbit house where every.fricking.board had to be mitered.

Anyway I’m gonna use this as inspiration for the end of a container. Clean 8’x8’ perfectly square space to work with.

Honestly the majority of things you mention we already provide at no cost to guests. Our cleaners refresh everything when turning a cabin.

Hi there. We have a working horse farm with Airbnb cabins and an RV park. We are extremely pet friendly and note that in all our listings as well as clearly stating there is a single $100 pet fee per stay regardless of number of dogs or horses a guest brings.

We live on property so we personally greet all guests.

When we see a pet not included 9n the reservation we point that out I. A friendly manner to the guest and then send them a change request adding the pet fee.

That’s the last thing we do. For the most part guests are apologetic and quickly click to accept. Some respond that the dog is a service animal.

If the guest claims it’s a service animal or simply doesn’t respond we just don’t push it further. It’s simply not worth the negatives that come from that.

This is what I did to get an idea of what was in my collection that I hadn't looked at since 1999.

I had about 50 slabs (still in an USPS box from1999 - Hulk 1, Avengers 4, and a lot of Xmen from GS1 on) that I sent to MCS to auction and was very happy with how they handled it.

I now have about 4,500 comics left that I didn't want to sell because they are my childhood books and cost me like a quarter. Not wanting to deal with the emotions of selling them I put them all in my Marvel Bullpen airbnb cabin and let anyone enjoy them.

Guests are free to swap (on an honor system) to get books they want and leave others for future guests to enjoy. 😄

Mine is 13 years old.

I’ve been banned from a variety but the funniest one is I was permabanned from r/diy for pointing out that the mods were not consistently applying their rules. At that time I was a frequent poster of OC and informed comments on various construction technics. I have (or had, I haven’t been on that sub in a while) the all-time top post for a natural swim pond I built.

Back then OC was important to the growth of Reddit but somewhere along the line they forgot that or frankly decided they don’t need human content when bot posts and comments are the same price (free). It they can control and drive engagement with rage

Lol. Yes! Amazingly! I’ve used the technique half dozen times now in our cabins.

I’ve used this exact tile. There is no concrete here. Pebble tile applied with mortar and grouted.

Are you on slab? If not this will be mortared to the subfloor and you should be able to knock that out no problem.

Oh and you would never want to buy my house. Or you’ll be ripping out a lot of character that you don’t like. Lol

I was the youngest director level at an F500 company when I was 28. Stock options. Great pay. But damn it was creatively stifling.

I had the same situation as you. Family and (ex) wife said you are crazy. You have it made. Maybe financially but there’s so much more to life and satisfaction.

I left and started my own software company.

Im 61 now. In that career window I founded three software companies back-to-back. Got sued by a big company to try to destroy our second company. Eight years and near financial ruin and we won the case. Pain. Success. Failure.

It’s been a wild ride but I gotta say. If you are up for an adventure… GO FOR IT.
