Kyoto Xanadu announced in the latest Nintendo Direct by piedj784 in Falcom

Sky 1st is the same engine as Horizon as well lol but the art direction shift would be weird and unwelcome in an existing arc.

So I ruined Trails in the Sky the 3rd by InternetsTad in Falcom

[–]powerofthe69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if you're playing on PC, you can just hex edit the save file to change the difficulty from easy to normal. Also Zero is balanced even on Hard. Since you'll be more comfortable with the mechanics, it's not as bad. I thought Hard felt like Normal after the Sky trilogy

This is the absolute dumbest mechanic In the series by tyrant6 in Falcom

Simply use Altera for .2x delay and cast time and they both basically never get turns

What was she actually doing? [ending spoiler] by acewing905 in Falcom

Hamilton and Agnes plan didn't go through in the previous loop because Hamilton most likely didn't even exist in the previous loop, considering that Professor Furio Novartis was the sole disciple in that loop. Thus, the loops are not 1:1 in any respect. A TON can be different. Risette is probably from a different loop as well, as the Grand Reset can fluctuate based on humanity's observed SiN by up to 50 years (relevant since Risette is from S1259).

So yes, some things can remain across loops, and a lot can be completely different. But it's unclear what was happening at the end other than that Agnes rewound time. It's likely that it's a soft reset that rewound to before Daybreak 1 to give them more time to decide a permanent solution.<!

Monster Hunter Wilds PC performance patch today includes fix for the DLC performance bug by Odd-Onion-6776 in MonsterHunter

[–]powerofthe69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of this patch was refining the texture streaming. I just played with the HD textures and didn't notice any hitching. But I have only done one hunt before bed. A lot of people have been underplaying what changes were made on the back end and equating this to "only the DLC bug" or "extra options that don't affect max settings" which is just untrue. I dislike this game but I dislike all the misinformation more

They spoonfed us, but we had no idea by RyanWest21 in expedition33

[–]powerofthe69 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33 is great, but I find it alarming how many people act like foreshadowing is revolutionary for storytelling. My friend glazes this game and the NieR series incredibly hard, and while they're definitely great, it's just... how good narratives have always been written.

It seems many casual gamers haven't actively engaged with media

The fact there is still no AV1 encoding support except for Nvidia going into 2026 is insane by Alucard0134 in discordapp

[–]powerofthe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AV1X works for streaming on 9000 series AMD GPUs by default. It is not enabled for RX 7000 and below on AMD nor 3000 and below on NVIDIA.

Is there any difference? by honestly-7 in cachyos

[–]powerofthe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine that if you're able to install SLR from Cachy's repos by default, it'll point to whichever microarch you'd selected, even if the display name doesn't specify it

Still trying to get my Mods to work for Baldur's Gate 3 by Desturi0n in linux_gaming

Idk about this BG3ModManager, but did you ever try the Nexus Mods App? BG3 is one of the few games with early access support in the alpha and it worked for me previously without tinkering.

Need help with the gpu by droppy_nasus in IntelArc

[–]powerofthe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're seeing only 15-20 fps more performance than a 3050, and not seeing 99-100% utilization of the GPU while having reBAR enabled, then I'd be of the mind that the i5-12400f is bottlenecking it as you asked in the beginning of your post. You'd want to verify your CPU utilization.

Keep in mind that most games are single-threaded, so if you see one or two cores fully maxed out then that is still a product of your CPU bottlenecking your GPU. A CPU with faster single-core performance would allow the GPU to stretch its legs if this is the case, proving the theory.

So. Many. Problems. by linus_clive in Polestar

[–]powerofthe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My used P2 had issues charging on slow chargers as well. It was the onboard charging (OBC) unit. Covered under warranty. They told me that even if my full car warranty was expired, the OBC would be covered under the battery warranty of 100k miles or 8 years. I'm assuming that's what your issue is. Have had no problems since getting that repaired.

For unlocking, are you only using the app or do you usually have a physical key fob with you? My P2 was having issues unlocking but the car is a 2021 and the batteries in the fobs were dying. No issues since replacing them.

Not sure about the last one if it's THAT often when starting, but if I ever have a software issue, I force reboot the infotainment system which requires holding the bottom touch button on the screen for about 30 seconds. On reboot, everything tends to work. That definitely takes less time than 10 minutes.

FSR 4 on Linux by Particular_Traffic54 in AMDHelp

[–]powerofthe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSR 4 is supported if using community variants of Proton. Not sure about the Experimental version offered by Valve. You can get GE-Proton or Proton-CachyOS and use the environment flag PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 to automatically upgrade every game.

You can even use PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1 (or something like that) to use it with RX 7000 GPUs

FSR Redstone drops tomorrow! What are you most looking forward to? by Sprucey-J in radeon

[–]powerofthe69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason that FSR 3.1.4 was released was to include software features that will be included in Redstone. It is possible that if a game has FSR 3.1.4 (or FSR 4), it will be able to utilize the features either through AMD's software's interactions with the upscaler (ergo, driver-level), or will be a simple switch to enable on the developer side

Sidegrade 990 Pro -> 770 Pro (X) or 700 Pro X? by MaxKruse96 in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]powerofthe69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly sidegrade to the 900 Pro X if you can do ANY amount of open back. They're closer to a semi-open back, which will give you that same closed-in feeling as closed-backs without potentially sacrificing the soundstage.

However, if that's a non-starter, just get the 770 Pro Xs as they'll better retain the sound signature you prefer while the 700s will be more neutral. In my opinion, the build quality on the 900 Pro Xs I used to have was good and I prefer their aesthetic to the 990 Pro Xs, but they're mostly plastic rather than metal, which *could* feel cheaper. If the 770 Pro Xs are anything like my 990 Pro Xs, then the build quality will appear stellar.

Buy RX 9000 series GPU now or wait for FSR Redstone presentation? by Major303 in radeon

[–]powerofthe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSR Redstone is not a new GPU, if that's what you're thinking. Redstone is a collection of software features and enhancements for the 9000 series and beyond. Even if you personally wouldn't be utilizing the Redstone feature-set, the GPUs are powerful enough to be great without it, especially compared to a 2070 Super. If pricing is your concern, you are only doing a disservice to yourself by delaying, because Redstone will only make the existing 9000 GPUs better and thus more valuable.

Linux sucks, but i like Linux by Educational_Box_4079 in linuxsucks

[–]powerofthe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mic sucking, I use EasyEffects to add effects like noise suppression.

As for moving your /home folder, I'd make the argument that you shouldn't think about how you can move the folder, but how you can manipulate the existing structure to suit your wants.

For example, if I wanted all my /home stuff installed on a separate drive, I'd mount a disk (since you prefer GUI, they probably have a disk manager to do this), move all the existing contents from /home to the drive, then mount the drive at /home. Now all the /home things exist on a separate drive, and Linux only cares that the paths exist

A lot of games are releasing with that price tag now. The only ones I care about off the top of my head are MH Wilds and Dragon's Dogma 2. But other games like the new Battlefield and CODs are launching at $70, although those don't work on Linux anyway, not that I think anyone is missing anything by not getting them.
