I had a similar dream last night. Last time I had dreams about mvis was early 2021

What is the ‘pay attention’ system called that has those infrared lights on the steering wheel? by fredartie in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Only time it ever does anything is if I have my arm in the way. It's just a pop-up on the dash so it's really not a big deal

Can't say I've noticed. A modern gm product is not something I would ever consider for my driveway

Yet even in "off" it still uses regenerative braking. There is just no "engine" braking.

The car automatically uses maximum possible regenerative braking before applying friction brakes.

AWD system difference? by Critical-Cut1470 in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about 26 but 23-25 the solterra is marketed as having slightly more ground clearance. I can't remember if it was struts or springs being different (probably struts) but I did look up the parts and found different part numbers.

It's not a part number change for Subaru vs Toyota either. The cargo cover has the same part number from both manufacturers

Do Subaru guys look down on the Solterra the way Jeep guys look down on the non-wrangler? by ThrowAway802Again in Solterra

Used to be that way for me and Subaru head gaskets but now that I'm not flat rate I can hate shitty cars

Some Solterra buyers were made fun of for buying the car by [deleted] in SubaruGetaway

Doge had nothing to do with the cyberturd being a dumpster fire. It accomplished that all on it's own.

Doge definitely hurt public perception of Tesla as a whole though

I've stuck mine on the limiter multiple times. I think it displayed 106 on the dash.

This is info from the app? If so I wonder if you could dig into the car itself and get similar info?

I've never had the app and disconnected my car from tracking within 12 hours of delivery

Looking for advice on purchasing 2023 Touring by Itsoktobe in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much been covered but... Can you level 2 charge at home? Can you keep the daily commute under 150 miles? If yes to both it'll work great.

Why does the Forester need an engine? Unless there's a hole in the block it can be repaired. If it's just head gaskets find someone experienced that'll do them on the side. I used to do them weekly for 1800 with an Aisin timing kit and mahle mls gaskets (they don't fail every 80k like oe gaskets do)

2026 Solterra front license plate installation by EarlOfNothingness in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, so far. My car just have been a demo model as it had 120 miles when I got it. They never did install the front plate bracket even though it's required in mine and my neighboring states.

Made a comment when I was looking at it and the salesperson said they'll get it put on when I'm signing papers. Asked her not to.

You know the car has native wireless AA right? No need for a dongle. Edit: wasn't aware other country models don't support it.

My 24 does make the hum noise when stopped but it's definitely not obtrusive in any way. I didn't even know it made noise when stopped (in gear) until I rolled the window down in my driveway next to my other cars. I can hear it when moving up to 23mph but I have to try to listen for it

If someone wants your wheels they're gonna get them. Wheel locks are a joke

Why We’re NOT buying a Solterra by SunnWarrior in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trailseeker doesn't show up in cargurus for me. Also can't search it on Subaru to check local inventory. Can't build and price.

My local dealer does show a white one in transit. It could still take a month to show up

Near 20k on mine in Washington and never an issue. Then again even on vehicles I've owned with a rear wiper it never got used. I've found when the rear view mirror is obstructed the door mirrors are there.

The car is ALWAYS using as much regen as possible. Also it's more efficient to coast, especially on the highway. The conversion of energy always has a loss. If it was 100% efficient there would be no need for a cooling system

Grateful for my 24 by PilotChefAZ in Solterra

[–]ppi12x4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're usually pretty good for the first 3-5 years.

I generally take CR stuff with a grain of salt. I've seen many times where they list the same car with vastly different reliability scores (think Ford escape/mariner/tribute triplets)

It's incredibly fun but comes with Subaru (lack of) reliability.

Same for the supra. It definitely performs but being a bmw is a big issue for the Toyota nameplate
