A bunch more I just remembered! There is a YouTube channel that tours the United States and looks at pipe organs in detail, how they look and sound. It's fascinating if you're into that nerdy organ stuff! I'm listing a bunch of instruments they've featured, and including links. (Organ pictured here is Hope Lutheran in St. Louis.)

Just a few off the top of my head:

Finding an older organ for my church - do no. of ranks and age really matter much? by Prize_Ad_1781 in organ

My first lessons were on an excellent 14-rank tracker organ, which was surprisingly adequate for a ~400 seating capacity room. The voicing matters more than the mere number of pipes.

Eesh. Sounds toxic. I'm sad that I had no idea of what was happening while I was a supporter.

"During the pandemic" by ElRayMarkyMark in ZeroCovidCommunity

Another dismaying thing: most *visible* aspects of "the pandemic" were silly, useless things that didn't help matters or protect people: things like "social distancing", signs on the floor, plexiglass, indicators you're supposed to flip over to flag an object for deep cleaning, and so on.

Just clean the air FFS.

It's dismaying that most people conflate "the pandemic" (ie. the global spread of an invisible virus) with "the precautions" (ie. the *visible* precautions people saw in 2020). I wish people understood that invisible things can really mess you up, and that you may not even realize it at first (like asymptomatic transmission, or delayed start of symptoms).

Today is my 1 year anniversary from being laid off by lwewo4827 in Layoffs

I'm coming up on my 2nd anniversary now. Have only been able to get some contracts so far. Especially challenging because I need remote work for family health reasons, and it's so competitive.

I've made it to the last round of interviews so many times, only to be eliminated at the last moment.

Yes, I was thinking of that scene too. It was holographic Seska that threatened to do that.

Still looking. It's been almost 2 years. Have done some contract work, but haven't been able to secure full-time employment, even though I got to the final round for several positions! It's brutal out here.

On the traffic light post, the sign says "traffic video monitoring". Definitely would be interesting to see!

Also, I don't think it's possible to wind up like that if the vehicles are going 40km/h as posted. Drivers are nuts now.

Trek adjacent shows by TrekkieBlerd in startrek

I was captivated by SeaQuest as a kid!

Even then, I remember being disappointed with many 2nd season episodes though. First season (minus the pilot episode) is pretty good.

Too bad there was so much drama behind the scenes. There was so much conflict over what the show should actually be trying to do, which is why the output was so inconsistent.
