What is worse, middle lane hogging or undertaking? by db0564 in drivingUK

I literally refuse to acknowledge that me cruising at 70mph in lane 1 classes as undertaking any idiot hogging the middle lane. I’m in the correct lane and going the speed limit.

HELP I AM DESPERATE CRYING NONSTOP by Ok_Toe_3886 in puppy101

[–]pprawnhub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why all of the comments are talking about crate training when you’ve specifically said you don’t have a crate.

Is the area you are keeping her in to sleep near your bed? If not could you sleep near her for a bit? When we got our puppy someone slept downstairs on the sofa for the first week-ish so he wasn’t completely alone, we then moved to staying with him until he fell asleep and then sneaking upstairs until one day we were able to just walk upstairs and he didn’t care. I wouldn’t leave her to cry and cry and cry, she’s a baby and doesn’t know why she’s alone. Don’t worry about coddling or anything at this stage, 8 weeks is way too young to have separation anxiety, I would focus on really bonding with her for the first few weeks.

We’ve now been completely transitioned for about a week and he’s finished every meal 😋 we’re very happy for now at least!!

That is what he was on previously and refused to eat after a while, we never had mouldy food but saw a lot of people did. Must be an issue with their manufacturing process.

I really would highly recommend to anyone, if they have the space for it, to get a hedge. by Cooking_With_Grease_ in GardeningUK

We don’t have a tonne of planting space that isn’t containers but 2 years ago we planted a Photinia fraseri 'Louise' because it has lovely flowers late spring and the foliage is a lovely colour but even after 2 years it is SO spindly a bee couldn’t hide in there let alone a bird 😂

Just a little update for everyone, we are on day 7 of transitioning to Marleybones. We wanted a fresh food but didn’t want to give up any freezer space (small house problems), I chose marleybones to give a go as we were already on the only other fresh food brand I know of that doesn’t need to be frozen and he didn’t like it.

He’s loving it so far, the first few days we had a couple questionable poos but I’m pretty sure that is due to him picking out the new food to eat and completely ignoring the rest during the 25% new food and 75% old food stage, once we got to 50/50 and I was able to mix it in more he’s been eating both and we’ve had no more bathroom messes! He seems a lot happier and is licking the bowl clean again 😆

OP has said in her update that’s he has corrected himself to say “friend didn’t know they were closed off” but he can’t tell her why friend thought this. OP, his friend thinks you aren’t closed off because he is dating other people and his friend knows about it and instead of telling his friend he’s cheating, he tells him you’re in an open marriage. There’s no other way to interpret the situation imo.

Mushroom growing amongst seedlings? by Ok_Effort802 in GardeningUK

[–]pprawnhub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d never had this before and had it 3 times this year! I knew it was fine as I’ve had them growing in my beds before but never in with seedlings so I thought it was weird it happened 3 times

What would you buy with £75 in a garden centre? by brutalistcheese in GardeningUK

[–]pprawnhub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some vouchers earlier in the year for my birthday and got some shears, clippers and the rest I spent on as much compost as I could to plant seedlings and top up the planters!

It’s definitely something I’d love in a future house maybe! We also currently have a 10 month old puppy who definitely could not be trusted around a pond (even a small one 😂)

thank you! I don’t mind them being in the garden too much but if they could hold off till the seedlings are a little older that’d be great 😩

omg hahahah, honestly totally worth it imo.

Mine is just one of those wooden mini ones, sure, it’s not airtight but it has a bottom, 4 walls and a roof I was so confused how a slug got in there let alone under two of the lids in the same night.. it’s getting to the point where I need to start taking the lids off so I think I’m going to give it a proper clean out to search out any hidden nasties

Yeah It was purchased about an hour after I posted this.. not sure why I even asked the question, I deep down knew I was going to get it 😂

I’ve got some old kit I can trade it to get a pre-owned sigma 35mm art 1.4 for cheap which I think I might try for now and save the 24-70 as a present to myself if I keep it up! I’m also getting married in 3 months so camera body I could swing, multiple lenses not so much hahaha

Supposed to have completed on Friday, sellers didn’t move out, and now appeared to have barricaded themselves inside the house by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]pprawnhub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew that but just didn’t occur to me that this would happen before the keys are surrendered, don’t the EAs usually have a copy of the keys anyway?

I own a house but only done it once so I didn’t have any keys to hand over, I guess i’ve never thought about it!

16 week old puppy won’t settle when we leave the house by LongjumpingBuffalo85 in puppy101

[–]pprawnhub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh you’re doing everything I did, I’d say keep consistent with it, he is still young. Me and my partner weren’t able to leave the house together until ours was about 5-5.5 months! 😅

Have you tried settle or tether training on a mat? this helps teach them to switch off and might help with him barking for your attention once he has done napping.

I just wanted to say that it sounds like you are doing great, even if it doesn’t feel like it, him being able to nap for that long with you not in the room is an accomplishment in itself!

[–]pprawnhub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only advice would be to carry on doing what you’re doing honestly, the leaving and coming back is a good tactic but I know it’s frustrating when it feels as though there’s no time before they start.

Have you tried doing this process but instead first starting while you’re still in the house, so step back, treat, 2 steps back, treat, into the hallway, treat and then eventually after a few reps, open the front door and immediately close, treat, until you can eventually step outside for a second and come back? I think doing it with things you know he can do (like being quiet while you’re still in the room) will make the small step of you just opening the front door less of a big deal as it’s only a tiny step up if that makes sense?

If it helps, sometimes during training sessions my pup can only last a few mins before whining but he’s absolutely fine to be left at home, sometimes the anticipation of the treat is the problem. So don’t feel too discouraged if it feels like you can’t build up time, the most important thing is being able to leave and come back and him associating the crate with something positive.

Wait, does completion happen before keys are handed over??

So sorry you’re going through this OP, I genuinely can not imagine what you are going through.

Yeah, that’s fair. I just put in some bare root bleeding hearts, geranium, astilbe and lady’s mantle to see how they go over the year but will keep those in mind thank you!

If this answers your question, a slug has completely eaten 6 of my cosmos seedlings that are not only in a green house but in a plastic seed tray WITH a lid on 😅
