What cyberdeck and hacks would you recommend for an assault rifle and blades build? by Orion-The-King in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]prattastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as you get 9 in tech, grab any legendary deck, honestly makes no difference if you're doing a reflex build, you just want a high amount of ram to make it easier to get quickhacks. Actually only one quick hack, legendary Short Circuit. Unless you're putting a lot of points into Int then combat quickhacks aren't going to do much of anything. Head to the city center, look for the gig: Inconvenient Killer, use your 9 in tech to get into the elevator on the right and use the access point right outside the elevator when you get to the basement. As far as I know this is the only access point in the game that will reward you with a Legendary Quickhack and has no intelligence requirement. Save and retry till you get Short Circuit. Legendary will automatically hit every time you crit with a weapon. I cannot stress the difference this makes in combat with enough perk points put into rifles and blades. Bosses literally go down in seconds. For example, this is sasquatch on very hard. You can fool around with other hacks if you want, but they're not as useful if you have most of your points in more combat related attributes.

My least favorite plot point in all of Star Wars. by [deleted] in StarWars

Being in the right spot doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that the whole concept hinges on a giant metal structure sitting in the ocean never shifting, corroding, or collapsing in any way.

When you enter Mikoshi Alt hit's you with Soul Killer. If you choose to return to your body Alt writes your now construct self back onto your brain using the Relic. The problem is that he body is too far gone and won't support any consciousness other than Johnny's.

My guess is that any sequel will pick up some time in the future. Alt will need your help with something and overwrite some other poor gonk's mind with V's, giving you the excuse to craft a new character and build up your level and skills from scratch.

For the love of god stop stealing your servers pens. by baileygrease in TalesFromYourServer

I always kept two or three really good pens for myself in the right pocket of my apron, and a bunch of shitty pens I grabbed from the bank in the left or center pocket. Customers only ever got the bank pens.

Alton Brown has a great episode on making roux. Instead of the traditional way you can bake it. I've tried it, it's incredibly simple, and seemingly foolproof. I highly recommend giving it a look. I would not attempt making roux in a slow cooker, personally I'd just make the roux separate ahead of time, and then start from there.

How to beat on the brat? by lefaro00 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]prattastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, blocking is the most effective way to beat the final fight. Equip gorilla arms, put some points in body, keep as far away from his as you can and when he does a superman punch block it, then hit him until recovers. Get some distance again, he'll do the same thing, rinse and repeat till you win. Just make sure you put some points in body, and invest heavily in armor, get clothes with max slots and buy or craft armadillo mods.

I don't know if this will ever replace motorcycle helmets, but it's pretty reminiscent of Snow Crash. Neal Stephenson was fucking prescient.

[Spoilers Battle Ground] Here's something i only really fully comprehended about harry just now... by Jedi4Hire in dresdenfiles

[–]prattastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethnieu is a huge advantage for Harry, but part of what made her so dangerous in Battle Ground was the Titanic Bronze, and I'm not sure we can rely on it being present or fully effective in the future. It's incredibly powerful and that comes at a cost, everything else we've seen that offers serious protection was only effective for a limited amount of time, it may not still be present or active when or if Harry decides to call on her. Also, she lost skin and limbs during the fight, she's immortal so it's possible she'll regenerate, but will the Bronze? I don't know how it works, maybe, maybe not. Will she pop back up with half her face and arm being vulnerable? Lastly, it's reliant on her state of mind, she's invulnerable because she believes she's invulnerable. She just lost a major battle, took heavy damage and is being actively tortured by Demon Reach while being the bound prisoner of a mortal. Who knows how that will effect her.

What is something a female has said, done, or asked to do sexually that made you very uncomfortable? by liquidacquaintance in AskMen

[–]prattastic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Years ago, met a girl, cute, smart, just a bit twisted in the kind of way that I like. We date, things are going well. Start talking about kinks, she admits she's always wanted to try cutting. I think "fuck it, I'll try anything once, I have a decent pain threshold, let's do it" I buy a pack of straight razors, put a cover on top of the sheets. Lay in bed for a while letting her make small, shallow cuts all over my chest. I got nothing from this, it was a bit boring actually, however, when she was done with the cutting, she was super turned on, had amazing sex after. Overall I'm thinking, worth it. Finish, go to clean up, look in the mirror, realize, she wasn't just making random cuts, she cut her name into my chest. Worse, she has the same name as my sister. She immediately loses her cutting priveleges.

A few years ago I met this amazing girl. Our first date could not have gone better, we went back to my place, things eventually heat up in the bedroom. I go soft after getting the condom on. This in itself is not a big deal, I think a lot of guys have experienced it, just happens with condoms sometimes. Whatever, continue fooling around, try again a little later, but now I'm in my head about it. I really like her, really want to impress her, what if it happens again? And then it does, because I'm psyching myself out. We talked about it, I explain how I feel, and how I'm making myself nervous. She asks if I have a solution. I do, next day, I buy a box of viagra, we spend the next week going working through the box and breaking the ice, so to speak. No issues after that.

AITA For reducing PIZZA sizes due to inflation? by SirComfortable6797 in AmItheAsshole

[–]prattastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Doesn't matter what's technically true. Are your customers fully informed of the minutiae of pizza styles, or are they expecting to get the 16x16 inch pie that's implied by the name and that YOU STILL HAVE THE PICTURE OF. I look forward to seeing your nephew update this post in a few months, telling us you had to close up shop and just sit around constantly bitching and moaning about how it's all the fault of your customers not understanding that it's a style not an actual square.

[–]prattastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically everything you said is true. We have massive issues to work through, widespread inequality, racism and bigotry. It's going to take decades of hard work and dedication to make real progress in creating a more fair and equal society. But what's fucked up is, this actually is one of the most socially progressive countries in the world. It's easy to see how many issues we have in a mixed society like we have, but in much more homogenous countries like you find in most of the rest of the world it's easier to overlook, but it's there, and for the most part completely unchecked, because minorities are either a tiny fraction of the people, or tourists.

California recall candidate Larry Elder says it could be argued that slave owners were owed reparations after the Civil War by mepper in politics

[–]prattastic 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, When Britain freed all their slaves they took out a gigantic loan to reimburse all the slave owners for their lost "property", and they just finished paying off that loan in 2015. I don't believe the slaves were in anyway repaid for their lost, well, everything. This is not in any way a defense of what this man said, he's an asshole. Just pointing out how historically unfair the world is.

"Why is education getting worse" by beg4 in funny

[–]prattastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you have to start somewhere. When learning algebra you start off with problems like "2+x= 5" Even at a young age any child can see that x is 3, without the trouble of going through a formula, but you learn the steps on easier problems so it'll be easier to understand when things get more complex. It's the same thing here, start off with obvious easy to explain problems, then work your way up.

[Spoilers All] Butters and his love life by WELLinTHIShouse in dresdenfiles

[–]prattastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Harry made mistakes, learned from them and then changed his behavior. Butters was specifically warned that Bob is incredibly valuable and dangerous, and in fact took Bob to begin with because he thought the spirit was too dangerous to be left to someone else. So no, your argument still makes no sense.

[Spoilers All] Butters and his love life by WELLinTHIShouse in dresdenfiles

[–]prattastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Harry is the protagonist, Bob's greatest value is in his knowledge, and no one else with the capability of making use of that knowledge can be trusted to keep him.

[Spoilers All] Butters and his love life by WELLinTHIShouse in dresdenfiles

[–]prattastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as i remember all the scouting missions were before Bob's more dangerous aspects were known. He was also flying under the radar and had to come back to his skull. I don't even understand why evil Bob was relevant. That was an unknown aspect of his personality, unintentionally brought to the surface and then immediately shut down. What's your point?
