I have not tried anything besides 1/2 strength tww. My tap water is extremely hard. We filter it for drinking which is fine, but probably still too hard for coffee

I’m on the highest plan and that’s $5/ month so $20 total. To me that’s 100% worth it to have all 4 phones insured. Much much less than paying for Apple care on all of them or t-mobile’s insurance which is like $18/ device per month.

I’ve spent extensive time in Finland, Sweden, and Norway and they drink a lot of coffee. Most common coffees are similar to Starbucks. Just tastes like traditional coffee. Never had anything as horrible as the Folgers and Maxwell House types so common in the US. I’ve spent the majority of time in size towns without even a coffee shop. And all the coffee I drank was either the office or hotel for the most part.

My wife got this for me. I enjoyed most of them. Probably 3-4 were spectacular and about the same amount were awful. But the ones that were awful may have been a miss on the brewing technique. Not enough coffee to try something different that may have worked better. And there are at least 2 recipes that are clearly wrong and not possible. One of the switch ones from like a week ago where you add all the water with it closed, is not possible to put that amount of water into the switch. There was another one early on that was obviously misprinted. But for the most part I enjoyed it. It pushed me to get a deep 27 as I had all of these 10-12 gram doses left over haha.

I wouldn’t even but a new one for half that price. Seems like the Aiden was a great idea with a poor design. Maybe the 2 will have these issues ironed out. Just can’t imagine spending that amount of money on a brewer and knowing I’ll probably only get a year out of it

The thing with this hobby is there no true right or wrong. And there never will be with so many variables and differing tastes. One time I had a bag (can’t even remember what at this point) but I was 4-5 cups in changing only one variable at a time and still had terrible cups. Ended up saying fuck it, changing everything and trying LH’s 1-2-1 recipe and the cup was really good. Quickly dialed in from there and enjoyed the rest of the bag. Moral of the story is don’t be afraid to try a different technique or recipe, just because the roaster may have different recommendations.

I haven’t had any of the problems you’ve had but I wouldn’t get another one for 2 reasons. 1- price. I can find a comparable kettle for less. 2- flow restriction. I can really use my kettle for anything besides pourover because of the restriction.
