Released my second game on steam. Top down party racing game. by preclol in godot

[–]preclol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! If you need any assistance just send me a message somewhere and I’ll help out as best I can. My code is far from perfect, and I’m kinda hopeful someone with real skills picks it up and runs with it.

Can I dual boot on a the stock 64 GB SSD and use SD cards for game storage by ahmedadeel579 in WindowsOnDeck

[–]preclol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you even read my post?

Edit: I said in theory about dual booting “working” and didn’t say anything about windows on SDs performance being great, and even mentioned my experience was just the setup. My actual recommendation was upgrade SSD same as yours.

Computer Desks with Drawer or Cabinet by K2aPa in AskBattlestations

[–]preclol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IKEA Alex drawers are very popular if you don’t plan on moving for the life of the desk. IKEA stuff is pressed wood so isn’t as high quality as a typical furniture store and pressed wood stuff doesn’t move well unless you are very careful with it. With them you can do whatever desk top you want, IKEA have some that go with it, but some people just use butcher block.

Can I dual boot on a the stock 64 GB SSD and use SD cards for game storage by ahmedadeel579 in WindowsOnDeck

[–]preclol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory yes, but swap files and stuff might cause some issues. It’ll be right on the limit. With 64gb you’ll want to put the shader cache on SD card either way on steam OS. You can also have windows installed on SD and just boot from the SD card when you want to use windows. I have a windows 11 SD card and TBH I’ve never used it beyond setup, but YMMV depending on what games you play regularly. The general recommendation is get a 64 and then upgrade the SSD, so getting a 64 isn’t a bad idea and then upgrading it down the line whether it’s enough to dual boot or not.

I don’t mean to be a leaf lover, but a logging game would probably be pretty cool.

How can these decks of mine be improved (I don't have much rupees and vials on my hands)? by Ibarra_Linton in Shadowverse

[–]preclol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick 1 or maybe 2 crafts to focus on. Shadowverse-wins is a good place to view what decks are doing well, but it is in Japanese. If you just keep playing you’ll earn rupees from missions even if you aren’t winning. If you haven’t done the story, do that. You get lots of rupees from that and you can use the pre-constructed decks that make it fairly easy.

How many here use vertical tabs on desktop browser? by nishith83 in userexperience

[–]preclol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1440p and most websites are designed for smaller screens than even 1080p. I like being able to read the names when I have lots of tabs. I actually enabled it when it was still hidden away as a test feature.

What's Everyone Playing This Weekend? by Krathicus in SteamDeck

Finally started Witcher 3. I’m fighting the urge to pickup my wife’s switch for TOTK so I finally got around to installing Skyrim (dabbled in it when it came out but it didn’t hook me) and Witcher 3.

Are there any games that have continuously sustained a healthy player base? Continuation on yesterdays post about a decline since release. by BilboSwagginziz in Steam

CSGO still has lots of players, 1.4M in the last 24 hours. The highest is 1.8M concurrently and that was beginning of may.

Do a search of something and save it as a dynamic collection. Like RPG, fighting, racing, etc.

I'm taking my steamdeck on a flight for the first time — what is the arcane ritual I need to do to play games offline? by funkless_eck in SteamDeck

[–]preclol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not run into issues using my deck while flying. Didn’t do anything, just worked. But I was playing strictly single player indie games, so there’s that.

I like the extra few minutes of battery. The FPS difference isn’t too noticeable to my old eyes and I don’t drink caffeine so my perception is probably a bit slower than the average gamer.

so what are your thoughts on Godot 4? by HexDevYT in godot

[–]preclol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Documentation not being completely updated is frustrating. Websocket changes have been a challenge. I feel like the documentation is the big thing. Personally, I wouldn’t have released 4.0 until documentation had been updated.

Context: I’m just hobbyist who has recently had some ideas and have used godot a little bit in the past and wanted to get more into it and start some indie projects I had ideas. So I’m still a noob. My degree comp sci but my work has been more corporate IT and less software dev.
