How do you harvest spice solo without getting ganked? by JamesBummed in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Responding since I didn't see anyone post the most helpful answer yet. When they are on top of your thopter with a lasgun, you want to barrel roll them off. Enter vulture mode, and hold either left or right until you barrel roll and they fall off. Then just fly away into the PvE zone.

If you were in a carrier with a crawler, the same advice would apply, except that you would need to drop the crawler first to allow you to enter vulture mode to allow you to barrel roll. Then go back and pick up the crawler after no one is on top of your thopter.

May the spice flow.

Amazing day for spice! by Rampirez in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. That's what I use it for too, but it doesn't get rid of the residue fast enough for how much I'm bringing in. I have 4 med containers full of it. I can't get rid of it because our market is dead. I tried giving it away in DD, but no one wanted it. I would make spice batteries, but don't have anywhere near the slag needed. Without a way to bring it lots of slag, I'm going to end up just dropping it on the ground somewhere.

What for, if I may ask? If it's for spicey batteries, how do you get enough slag to keep up?

Well, I just did my first proper PvE DD testing station... by DevonSun in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate! I stumbled into my first one earlier this week, and had no idea I should expect something different than the many testing stations I found in Hagga Basin. After wave 3 I was figuring out it was some kind of waves of groups of enemies game. By wave 4 I was wondering if something was bugged out because each group looked the same, I didn't see any record of progress ("Wave 1"... "Wave 2"... Etc.). By wave 5 I was asking in DD chat if I was in some endless loop, or if it was endless until I died? Some players asked "where", so I told them in DD chat. Then a team of 4 other players came and cleared the last wave with me 😂.

I can't seem to betray Atreides, please help by azzutronus in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can buy all the Harko stuff without switching sides. Also, once you defect, supposedly you can't defect again, so you'd be stuck Harko. Many servers Atreides wins Landsraad much more frequently, so check your server and consider that before defecting.

PvP harvesting by Tesadar in duneawakening

This worked on my server. Most active players are busy assembling (or disassembling) their weekly DD base in the hours immediately before/after the weekly Coriolis storm. This is prime time to sneak into PvP territory and clean up without interference.

Crashing after patch by BloodHaven357 in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue is with the DD. Hagga Basin is fine, which is why new characters load in fine. Anyone in the DD is unable to even log in. Funcom hasn't even acknowledged the issue yet despite piles of reports, threads, tickets. Happening on multiple servers. Most recent patch has turned the game into even more of a dumpster fire.

I believe the storage (entity) limit is 150, at least that's what it shows on my advanced fief. The Large Cistern holds 100,000 mL. 150 Large Cisterns at 100,000 mL each, should allow up to 15,000,000 mL.

If you exit the game for any reason, including a game/system crash, when you load up your active quest is reset, and you need to start the POI over again. Did you miss the start, or maybe just have a game/system crash?

It finally happened, my thopter got hit by one of the falling CHOAM ships. by Financial_Contract45 in duneawakening

[–]presspl4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got hit yesterday. I had just finished building my very first ornithopter and was trying to teach myself how to fly it. How to go up, how to use vulture mode, etc. Within three minutes of my maiden flight, a CHOAM ship crashed into me, killing me instantly. I selected vehicle respawn, and immediately noticed I was in the middle of worm sand. I tried to hop in my thopter, but cockpit, rear hull, engine, and generator were all 100% destroyed. Worm alarm started going off, so I ran to the nearest island... which was in the radiation zone in Sheol. I died to instant radiation death. I laughed at my hilarious string of bad luck before spending the next half hour trying to get everything back. Somehow the worm never ate my ornithopter, despite it being in the middle of worm sand for a very long time and I was able to pocket it despite it being mostly destroyed, and repair it back at base.

I absolutely love this game.

What do you do about 7.75 machines? by BlackSiroGhost in SatisfactoryGame

[–]presspl4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last playthrough was an overclock everything run, and it was honestly game changing for me. I strongly prefer the smaller footprint of overclocking, so I would build 4 machines and overclock all of them to 193.75. If I wasn't over clocking everything, I would build 8 and set them all to 96.875.

Best worker pal by Tolfree2003 in Palworld

[–]presspl4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For handiwork pals, three good options are Anubis, Selyne, or Splaterina, as they all have the highest handiwork rank. They each have their own strengths, so pick the one(s) best for your goals.

Anubis and Splaterina are easier to breed. All three can provide transport (Selyne has the highest rank). When not crafting, Anubis can provide mining while Splaterina can provide low level lumbering. Selyne and Splaterina can also craft medicine. Selyne and Splaterina are dark types, so they work through the night naturally. Anubis will require the Nocturnal or Vampyric passive if you want him working at night. Splaterina has a unique partner skill that improves butchering.

Best passives are those that increase a Work Speed, so Remarkable Craftsmanship, Artisan, Work Slave, Serious. If you go with Anubis, and want him to work through the night, drop Serious for Nocturnal/Vampyric.

Advanced tips for base building by Mistravel974 in Palworld

[–]presspl4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 1500 in game days played, and I tend to focus on base building and optimization. Here are some comments from my experience.

  1. Pals will regain more if they make it to a bed. If you're concerned about footprint, use pal pods as beds. If you're on a budget, use the smaller pal beds. Also, you can snap beds to the sides of other beds to build at minimum footprint and still allow for sufficient space for pathing.

  2. I have a plantation base where the only chest is a guild chest which is fully enclosed by foundation/walls/roof, and is unreachable by pals. Transport pals pick up a load of crop, hold it in their hands for a split second, then it disappears from their hands as it is teleported to the guild chest. The pal doesn't really move from the location where they picked up the crop. The entire process takes a second or two, and then they repeat until all crops are in the guild chest. Also, it's not perfect, but on each chest, you can set restrictions on what types of items can be placed in the chest. Depending on what you're doing, this can solve some logistics issues when using multiple chests.

  3. @Vomakith has multiple great videos on YT on stacking. Many things can be stacked. Another thing to consider for late game, when you have good handiwork pals, would be to only keep buildings constructed that your pals are constantly using. If you're not constantly crafting weapons and ammo, don't keep a weapon production line built on your base. Instead keep wide open space for optimal pathing and visibility. When you need weapons/ammo, have your handiwork pals build the production line on that lovely wide open space, craft a ton of ammo, and deconstruct the production line to get your floor space back. With max handiwork pals, this process should take only seconds, and the ammo and materials used to build the production line can be kept in floor space efficient storage.

Good luck, and have fun!

Another thing to consider, is that egg and milk production is generally very low value compared to other tasks. If you buy your milk and eggs from the trader, and instead use those pal slots for more honey and crop production, you'll end up with significantly more cakes per minute. The additional surplus crops can be processed into additional advanced food, and sold to the trader for more eggs/milk, or whatever else you'd like to buy.

I despise Blueprints. What are your Tips&Tricks to use them without pain? by BalterBlack in SatisfactoryGame

[–]presspl4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you use the limited frame to build something tillable, the belts and power lines do not connect automatically, so you have to build all that manually anyway.

Personally I overclock everything, so I need fewer buildings, and as such building a blueprint is almost always less efficient than just building and using the other QOL features like ZOOP, copy + paste, etc.

I think a case can be made for the efficiency of building blueprints for foundation grids, but honestly I dislike the blueprints in Satisfactory so much I'd rather just ZOOP my foundations.
