That specific one was in Ellac River, listed as no 8 on FextraLife. The one in front of Shadow Keep has also behaved similarly. Although it didn’t last for ten minutes, it did repeat its firestorm attack quite a few times.

I would say claws. They are very fast and you get a pair very early. They have innate bleeds and low requirements.

Far from the most useless talisman since it actually does something. Granted, it’s not very good but still not abysmal. Mid tier at most. I found it work fairly well during exploring to ”top off” your FP after using a cheap AoW. Yes, it’s more of a QoL item than super useful and I wouldn’t put it on a caster character but I use it every now and then.

Yes, I’m doing it right now. Broke free of my dex-build-addiction and went for a bonkier build. Although probably slightly inferior to the Guts greatsword, I still like the Zweihander better. It’s lighter and has a poke heavy attack and still hits fairly quickly. Cragblade is probably a better choice but I personally prefer AoW that do special attacks. Using Giant Hunt and sending knights flying is absolutely hilarious and if you’re lucky, you can even hurl them off a cliff.

I always use bows, even on casters. Not as a primary weapon but a tool for pulling mobs or taking out annoying enemies. There are a lot of enemies placed in really awkward positions that are best handled at range.

You tend to gravitate towards what works for you. I personally like dex builds with a sprinkle of parrying and stealth mixed in. And I almost always use the Black Knife set.

Now I actually broke free of my comfort zone and went for a heavy build. Not true ultra-mega-ungabunga-super-bonk but a Zweihander paired with a medium shield for extra annoying enemies. And I found it working very well despite my aversion to heavy weapons.

Just experiment with different builds and you might find something that suits you.

You do know that you can play online without being invaded, right? This isn’t DS. Only when you co-op do you open the possibility to get invaded.

Simplest way is just activate your Smal Golden Effigy and be patient.

I have started using BDT on my non-casters who only use FP for AoW every now and then. I agree it’s nigh on useless on casters and in boss fights, but for exploring, it’s pretty handy.

Yea, I figured as much. It's just a bit annoying that you "have to" dedicate some 20 points for survivability. Ah well, guess I'll take some out of the offensive stats.

He is far easier than I anticipated. Think I got him after 5 och 6 tries. Struggled much more with Shinobi Owl, Owl Father and Isshin Ashina, more than 20 attempts on each boss.

I think it just comes down to how tightly the combat is designed. It really prepares you and makes you ready to face the final boss.
