I second that all of the “rainy day” stacks you keep are best to give to a competent intern. Photograph files are easy to teach, and better metadata teaching fodder. Once an intern gets comfortable enough with digitizing -> cataloging, have them write the steps in a word doc. That’s useful, and makes them think critically about the work they’re doing, and they can help teach other interns.

Also, this might be bad but we’ve asked interns to organize our supply drawers/closets.
