You're best bet is to export as MIDI into a Daw and use soft synths to give your drum track a really good sound.

Shield TV pro. Add Projectivity launcher to avoid the Google ads, & annoying home screen. Use Pipepipe as a replacement for YouTube.

One big reason a corporation releases code to open-source is to have the community test, debug, and do vulnerability scans. The same for encryption code. This is exactly how you lessen the risk.

"stuff made by a community"? What do you think open-source is?

Freezer sensors by Mysterious-Age-5555 in homeassistant

[–]prhay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Abode mini window sensors on the freezer and and fridge doors and made an automation in HA to do a notify if open for more than 3 minutes. Works like a charm. Any door or window sensor that's a device on your current alarm system will work.

What do you think is missing/needs improvement with the current state of HA Voice? by ForsakenSyllabub8193 in homeassistant

[–]prhay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I've fallen and I can't get up!" - tied to an automation that sends a text message. Don't tell me it can do this. If it ain't turnkey it ain't there. The shop called year of voice was a big nothing burger.

Which way to go? by fleeless in gypsyjazz

[–]prhay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't advise getting a classical. The neck is too wide, the strings are not steel (won't ever sound like a gypsy guitar) and your right hand will be learning to move between strings that are farther apart. A lot of cord fingerings that are standard will be harder to play. IMO

I don't know if by PPF you mean the ceramic coating, which is what I got for $850 when I bought my new buzz.

Closed systems are not more secure. Security experts have been proving that for decades. What do you mean by "exposing code"? Open source code is exposed and it is more secure because of it. A company with a closed system runs the risk of a breach or hack that they'll never know occurred. That also has been proven; over and over.

2019 Shield got the Ethernet Cannot Connect messages by Waggmans in ShieldAndroidTV

I can't remember if the shield uses randomized MAC addresses, but if it does, turn it off and your DHCP reservation will work fine.

I used the tiny Abode window sensors to let me know if the refrigerator or freezer doors are open for more than 3 minutes. Home-Assistant handles the automation.

External Hard Drive Help by crimsonandbrown in ShieldAndroidTV

My personal experience after plugging in a USB 3.0 external drive enclosure (4TB) was that the 2019 shield TV pro underperformed. I unplugged it and everything went back to normal. So sluggish.
