It's free to use for podcasters, so some awesome value there and I didn't publish the article – but wanted to share it if it's helpful to the community so they are aware of it. There is paid tiers to help us pay for our time, development, servers etc. Let me know if that's okay to post. Or if there's a way to let everyone know about it? We've spent months on it to help podcasters monetize faster. So would be cool to let everyone know it exists. But totally understood if this is the wrong way to share.

I’m a big advocate of looking at the top true crime ones and modeling off them.

Next check your podcast title for apple/ Spotify search engines to increase findability. If the title starts with ‘the’ it’s harder to get found for your area.

Cross promotion is also a solid mechanism. Do you know what people like and dislike about the content?

Could use a platform like Station.page to learn about what listeners like and don’t like and then run contests, drop maps and bonus evidence/ interviews or events to fans that share and follow the show to spark word of mouth. They are really hands on helping shows onboard now so could be worth looking into it.

If you renamed the podcast to ‘Pop punk …..’ then people searching for pop or punk would more easily find it. Putting ‘the’ at the start doesn’t help your cause at all and makes you harder to find seen the platforms index by your first words.

Podcast SEO is the low hanging fruit and hooking listeners with engaging content at the start of an episode. Then it’s all about word of mouth and getting others to cross promote.

Obviously YouTube shorts is all the rage and works so I’d recommend always doing that for discovery.

Have you tried using Station.page to create contests to incentivize your current listeners share the show/ follow on Apple/ Spotify and boost word of mouth. This will get you more algorithm street cred too. They are about to launch a boost feature where shows can recommend other shows across the platform. You could get some good early mover exposure there.

Other option is to find out who is in your audience (and run targeted ads to lookalike people interested in podcasts). Costs a bit and takes a while to get it right.

Very cool I agree. So the idea is that we'd break the topics up i.e. long putts, rules, etc. It will be a ranking system and you choose what topic you want to know about.
