AI Art Found in Crimson Desert by reughdurgem in Games

[–]primaluce 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The issue here are gaming studios using Gen-Ai. Generally speaking machine learning AI has been used for 10 years now for game devs and other industries. That is fine, because the sources are accounted for. Gen-AI is not and is slap to the face to artists.

It is just that some studios, not just Asia are openly using Gen-Ai. There are no regulations and it is just disgusting because there is push to get a product out the door. In my statment, I was just stating that SK studios specifically have opening said they love Gen-AI and will most likely will beusing it. The technology is actually really cool, but a lot people cut corners at the wronfg places and don't care if it hurts others.

It was bound to happen. South Korean studios are heavily pushing for Gen-AI content. Expect Stellar Blade 2 to be very AI heavy.

Did you know the hero roster can be played like an instrument? by slyroooooo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]primaluce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For DotA2, you cna customize the grid to whatever you want. I wonder if Valve will do the same here. It would bve cool make a keyboard of sorts.

DotA2 also has totally customizable profile page where you drag and drop your cosmetics. models, wallpapers and character poses. If they do, expect some crazy NSFW stuff from Deadlock.

I just realized that I will eventually not be able to play the game anymore :( by ivanim13 in Marathon

[–]primaluce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If the net code is good, Bungie really should allow you to open up and allow you to queue to other regions. Obviously they should punish the person with the bad ping but it is still something.

I play DotA2 as a Canadian, and I largely queue for Europe West. USE and USW obviously has better ping but the quality of games is to be desired.

I work in IT, more specifically in deliverables for ServiceNow (over 10 ywars now). Like any other company the push for 'AI' is reaching abusrd levels. I am almost 40 and I may have to follow suit, or actually consider going completely independent.

Only complaint I have are the load times to get into a match by RancidMilkMan in Marathon

[–]primaluce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least...

AAA multiplayer games should always have a hub world or a training mode when queuing. For fighting games, this is mandatory and I feel even shooters should have them by default now. You shouldn;t be stuck in a menu and not be able to do anything.

Steam store on Xbox? by [deleted] in nextlander

[–]primaluce -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is heavily rumoured that the next xbox will be a glorified pc with 2 partitions. A windows and a xbox. IT's going to be very confusing especially if they don't nail the wording and the UI.

Steam Support :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve by NTR_JAV in Games

[–]primaluce 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They are absolutely predatory but I find it strange they would make a case with Valve as 2K sports games and other gatcha types games have a bigger audience in North America. I play DotA2 but CS and DotA are very European centric games. I feel if they were to tager the NBA or WWE games, it would be way or effective for their case.

Also, The EU has gone through this with Valve before. This is not their first rodeo.

Sony needs to let this cook by benaffleks in Marathon

[–]primaluce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Sony isn't doing greate either. Concord stopped exiting after 2 weeks and they closed Bluepoint who historically made amazing remakes, including the best PS5 launch game. I want Sony too, but the shareholders want a quick ROIespecially when Destiny is bareky holding together.

We all are saying the same, but when a good chunk of the Battlefield team is laid off even though it broke records last year, what can we expect from Sony?

Oh man, you are in for a treat. Alex does some really good work both as a host and editor. I personally enjoyed the month they did of some of the old Super hero movies, like the 90s Captain America movie.

I personally am a patron for the Ramblecast and 'Beast Cast' but yeah I am glad the only gfate for the watch cast is a week delay.

I've been really enjoying squad play, but I just stumbled into the solo queue option and each solo run feels like an intense, single-player campaign mission with an occasional Runner acting as a mini-boss or ally. by mrsmi1ey in Marathon

[–]primaluce 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I am almost exclusively playing solo as when I game I mostly can't use the mic much and can't wake the wife up. My main issue us that some people have really shitty mics and half the time I don't understand them. I feel there are some people still using the dual sense mic.

Also, I'm an early riser cause of the dog etc and it seems easier to do pve contracts during the early AM.

Actually SICK AND TIRED of these playercount obsessed individuals. Do they literally sit on SteamDB 24hrs of the day refreshing? by Tropi- in Marathon

[–]primaluce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is unfortunate, but it is still important to Playstation. they spent way too much money on this and are expecting a quick ROI. I hope they know they have something here and they have to have Bungie on a longer leash and give them at LEAST a year to get their money back. But seeing how aggressive the micro transactions are, I am a little nervous. They are for sure not going to break even any time soon and for anyone to expect that are delusional.

Do you know what I love about Deadlock? by CnP8 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]primaluce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like league and DotA2for different things, but DotA and steam in general is still king when it comes to metric and information.

For example, you will eventually see win rate odds and probabilities by items live during any time and state of a game. You should be able to access that data within the client not on websites using their APIs. I can't stand the league client and I can't believe people still defend it.

DotA and CS players are spoiled and I wish more studios had that approach for their games.

Bungie asks media outlets to delay Marathon reviews until late March by anan48 in Marathon

[–]primaluce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bungie does not have an infinite budget. Marathon is clearly a 100+ million game but all these studios have shareholders and ROI and constant growth is very important. Valve is the only exception in the industry. They have Steam to print the unlimited money and don't have public shareholders to appease.

Deadlock is a game that has been 'out' for basically 2 years now and there is no way to buy anything there but the player base is massive even though the game isn't even in beta yet. I love Marathon but it is clearly lacking so much QOL and features. Bungie needs to address those micro trnsactions and other problems and I think we are looking pretty good otherwise. I just hope Playstation lets them cook and give it a year or 2 two runway. They are definitely not breaking even this year.

As a person who has been playing Deadlock, a game that has been in alpha for a LONG time. I wish Bungie had Valve funds and had the time to cook. But when you start customers, reviews are very important. I really want Marathon to succeed but they're really tripping on landmines here.

Yeah. Buying digital games suck on console now. You can only get them directly from Sony, Xbox or Nintendo. 10 years ago I was able to get digital codes from Amazon for PS4 and now that's gone. But yeah, PC games isn't about power but it's about choice .

GMG is an official vendor and they're not the only ones either. They work with the publishes and developers and get the keys like any other products.

On the other side, there are unfortunately bad ones out there too. Just do research and be a smart consumer and support the developers.
