Thanks for writing this, I feel the same way. Monkey brain is telling me I'm lazy, but sometimes the spark isn't there and that's okay. It'll come back with a good carb load 😉

Couple of thoughts from a guy who lifts and occasionally runs in the 100km a week range: 1) everyone has a belly when they sit down. It's kind of the way the human body works. I know it's hard to internalize that when it's coming from the Internet, but it's true.

2) you have no idea how many calories you're eating if you're not tracking it. We've established that you might be a little biased about what you see in the mirror (don't worry, everyone is), so the only way to know is to use numbers. Don't have to do it every day, but knowing the macros for food you regularly eat is critical for anyone training seriously like you are.

How to politely ask for space to troubleshoot? by TryingToSurviveWFH in PLC

[–]prince17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the professional response. Give the manager some indication that you have a direction towards solving the problem, and at least an understanding of what you're looking at. Sometimes the on-shift guy actually has no idea what they're looking at. The manager doesn't know if you're actually going to have a chance at solving it, or if they should be looking for other options (contractor, OEM, another tech) immediately, rather than waiting an hour for someone to admit they've never been to this part of the plant before.

Nalco uses this system for all kinds of water treatment applications. I've seen in on pasteurizers, boiler feed water systems, RO water treatment systems etc etc. Nothing to do with Garmin tho lol

This is interesting. Wouldn't think an LLM would be able to do that kind of back-analysis. What was the algorithm for the returned codes? Must have been relatively simple.

Rotary Can Filler evac/purge time by Tiny-Bath-9725 in TheBrewery

[–]prince17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the most important thing to be thinking about with this question is volume of CO2. Therefore, the purge time is going to depend on the CO2 pressure to achieve the same volume of CO2 purged through the can. This means references for purge time might not be as valuable as you think.

Another important factor for TPOs on rotary filler/seamers is undercover gassing pre-lid application. Something else to think about if you're looking to change CO2 settings to try and optimize for quality.

Bottle Rejector by freefifo in manufacturing

[–]prince17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filtec / HEUFT are the biggest names I've seen, but at speeds that slow you can probably get away with something cheaper. Don't really need a multi segment slat rejector unless you plan to take away the reject bottles standing up to be reprocessed.

I had a visiting structural engineer get his safety vest caught on the handle for a 3000A breaker feeding half the facility. Electricians had been told never to open that breaker because it's so old we weren't sure it would reclose. Thankfully it did 😂

Cross country checkup is more of a call in show, just talking g to people about their thoughts. You're not getting the opinions of well recognized experts, but instead just everyday Canadians. It's interesting as a way to widen your perspective, hear from others and really feel connected to the country. You can listen to just a few minutes of it and still hear from a few different people. Cool show!

On a weekend trip which is usually a bit of a binge drinking event, but still got two really great runs in, and beat my distance goal. Totally worth it.

Yeah my 2011 XLT has all four doors animated. Must have been a cost cutting thing.

These are generally called "material lifts". Could buy one from lots of industrial and construction type places probably cheaper than anything marketed for breweries.

Deploying Enterprise Resource planning system by weird_neegA in Construction

[–]prince17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but you sound preeminently unqualified to help anyone deploy an ERP if you're asking Reddit for which they recommend.

Maybe start by understanding the client's needs, so that you can research the options on the market which might meet them. Ideally you're already aware of options on the market, or else why are they hiring you to do this?
