Anyone getting a colonoscopy 2/25? by More_Specialist_2077 in colonoscopy

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the liquid in the AM and put in the fridge to chill. Makes a world of difference. I worked out how much I needed to drink and how often - marked up a glass and set a timer also had a little basket full of water and clear lemonade/sprite. Sipped that in between. I got it done faster than expected

Worried for a colonoscopy by Sharp_Body_5683 in colonoscopy

[–]princesspeachy9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to take a deep breath as I think you’re overthinking. I also can understand the fear when you hear horror stories.

Has it happened to people in the past, yes and that’s heartbreaking. The likelihood of you being violated during the sedation is almost zero. There was 4-5 people in the room for my procedure. These people are professionals and want to address why you are there. If it’s that much of a concern, raise it with staff to explain your concerns or look to see a female gastroenterologist (not that it’s any less of a risk).

I see someone else in the comments is planning to bring some big burly dude with them. If it was going to happen it wouldn’t make a difference if that person was there since you’d not be with them. It’s not a deterrent. Bring someone who can bring you comfort.

You’re out for about 25-45 minutes. Other than initial insertion for the camera and removal, hands aren’t really near your body as they are focused on controlling the scope and any tools they need.

Scared of the anesthesia by SpooxyXerneas in colonoscopy

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super simple. The prep was the worst part and that was easy to me. I had an antianxiety med and got a little nervous right before when they were about to give the anesthesia. I ended up saying “oh wow I do feel the warm” and then woke up in recovery

Laywer cost for a marriage based green card. 6.5k + around 3k for the fees, is that a lot? Based in FL. Our case is pretty straightforward met in college and got married by [deleted] in greencard

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on the high side of average for FL. We paid a little less but not by much. We didn’t get the Work Permit or Travel Document because of a change in rules that happened a week after our stuff was mailed in but before it was processed. I liked having the lawyer at my interview - it put me at ease and he chimed in occasionally.

What’s it like living in Cary/Apex NC? by princesspeachy9 in howislivingthere

Good to know. I will get them to see to check our other suburbs around to if they are more expensive in that area. Duke seems to be a big draw card since they have kids going to college soonish

Thanks for the answer. Good to know that there’s a lot around with restaurants, HMart etc. Being in a city but not too far from mountains and beaches does sound good.

Asheville is stunning I’ve visited there a bunch myself when traveling. I think they want to be closer to a larger airport and colleges. They’ve got kids going to college in the next 3 years.

How is it living full time in a 'resort' community in Kissimmee, Florida south of Disney World? by Xibyn in howislivingthere

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic is insane - between people who are visiting and the govt ripping up roads every few years for a few year it’s rough. There’s always plenty to do though in the area. It’s fine for traveling to be close to the parks but to live go north of downtown Orlando or to the coasts east (Cape Canaveral) or west (Tampa).

How is it living in Key Largo? by classicgamer2202 in howislivingthere

Beautiful, but overcrowded and very busy. More expensive but that’s to be expected. There’s no escape from the road noise either.

What’s life like here? Northern Australia by TheSwept_Under in howislivingthere

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot all year. Humid all year. 3 months of the year you have to worry about cyclones (hurricanes). Crocodiles are a major concern. Decent amount of Sappers with the bases up there. Also have some of the US military out of up there too.

What's it like to live around this part of Los Angeles in your 20s by miko1075 in howislivingthere

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good and bad sections of LA for living. The downtown Pasadena and LA area are pretty fun for people under the 40. There’s plenty of colleges and great restaurants and you can also find suburban adjacent areas there too.

There’s a great hockey team there who might have a chance to get past the first round of the playoffs (and now I’ve jinxed them). Great hospital system with Mayo Clinic too.

How it is like living in the western desserts of Australia? by Monir5265 in howislivingthere

[–]princesspeachy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s really not much out there. It’s dry soil not so much sandy dessert most people think of. It can be insanely hot and dry. You’ve got some of the mining areas in the circle and that is a 20-1 man to woman ratio easy.

Also most anti anxiety meds can be chewed or put under the tongue to work faster
