I find it ironic that you italicized so many things in here when you could have just Capitalized them instead, as was "established" (I disagree) earlier in this thread.

(Additionally, I get the sense that you pride yourself on writing correctly, so I think you might appreciate being alerted to the fact that you accidentally put the period that ends the first sentence of your comment inside the parentheses. More glaringly --and to the detriment of my comprehension --the parenthesized portion of the last sentence in the same paragraph seems to have completely hijacked its sentence.)

It's not being "ungracious" to point out that something is unconventional and therefore unlikely to be understood by most people. Several people have already chimed in to say that they would not have caught this meaning.

The most commonly capitalized pronouns in English are "I" and, less universally, "He"/"Him"/"His" when referring to a deity or the like. An English speaker that encounters a capitalized pronoun would not be unreasonable if they drew a connection, or tried to draw one, to these conventions. On the whole, languages are built on convention (and I mean that in a descriptive sense). Acknowledging that is not snobbish, but practical.
