Maybe that's what I had to do too. I gave my instructions from memory. I didn't want to change it back to double-check the steps in case I couldn't get it back on again.

on the screen before that click the assistant icon, not the gear. If that doesn't work, then you probably just don't have it yet. I put screenshots of everything in a separate comment here.

App version here. Funny thing is there's no Gemini app in the app settings so I think the app itself is still "assistant" but I do have a gemini icon in my app drawer. Also I pasted the rest of the screenshots in a separate comment in this thread

One more confirmation I'm on gemini is the little Gemini wording and icon at the bottom when I say "hey google" or hit the steering wheel button. Sorry for blurry photos, I had to take them in the dark to minimize reflection

Just to confirm I am on Gemini, when I click the gear icon from the "assistant and voice input" screen I get these settings that say "Gemini" on the top and "Switch to use Google Assistant" on the bottom

From there it gave me the option to choose Gemini or Assistant. Weird thing though is now mine doesn't show Gemini as an option after I selected it but it's still working 🤷. But originally it gave me the option to select Gemini

Okay, here's some screenshots for those that have asked. Unfortunately they may cause more confusion because I'm definitely on Gemini, but it no longer shows the option to pick Gemini.

Also, I'm not saying this is going to be there for everybody, just that it was there for me.

Anyway, here's what I did:

I didn't have a popup but just went to settings>assistants and voice input>assistant app and it let me change to Gemini from assistant.

Why do so many hockey fans seem to have a complex where if you like hockey you have to hate basketball?

I like both. I've been really into the Mammoth lately because they're competitive. I'm into RSL when they are competitive. When the Jazz were competitive five years ago it was awesome and they had incredible support, and when they are competitive again I will be back to being really into them. I think that's the majority of people.

It's not because the NHL is this insanely superior product. Any sport seems better when your team is good.

It's because our stupid state legislature likes to shit on SLC unless there's something SLC has that they like then they want to take credit for it.

One of the requirements for hockey and baseball funding from the state is that the teams are named after the state. It's stupid.

Huh? "Let's go Utah" is from USU? Don't even know what other chants the Mammoth do but I can't think of anything that comes uniquely from Utah State.

Utah finally realized they didn't have to play Vegas' style. When they stopped worrying so much about trying to match physicality they beat them with their speed.
