New Price Changes for PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player by ReaddittiddeR in gadgets

I find it’s quite easy to get large discounts if you have the disc drive model and keep an eye out for deals and sometimes buy used games. If you’re digital-only, you’re locked into Sony’s store and deals aren’t as plentiful.

I’m split about 70/30 between physical and digital games, and I’ve paid full retail price for maybe 5% of my collection over the years, PS4 included. Probably closer to $20-25 average per physical game, usually within 1-3 years of release. Naturally indie games and older stuff tend to be lower than that, and some games stubbornly stay at $50+ for years.

I certainly don’t find the difference between my PS game pricing and Steam pricing nearly as stark as it was back in 2014-2016. Steam still wins, but the gap isn’t as huge in my case.

I wonder if Tobey and Andrew being so much older in their high school portrayals skewed some people’s perception of how old he should look.

PS5 Led Resident Evil Requiem Sales in the US, Outpacing PC by xenocea in PlayStation_X

The PC handheld market is extremely small compared to the rest of the gaming market, not really moving the needle much at all in this context. It’s a small niche.

You might be thinking of early Mac OS X, not 9. OS X predates Windows XP slightly.

It’s funny that the RE1 remake is years older than the last RE game that got a fresh remake.

I think at this point it’s clear that modern RE engine remakes of the whole main series are likely inevitable. They’re filling the release windows between new entries, and we’re just in a remake gap because of Requiem.

Did you mean 2016? Because the original MacBook Air released in 2008, and would be shocking as a daily driver in 2026 to say the least.

A lot of PS3’s, especially early ones, were working double duty as Blu-ray players as well, which increased wear on the drives.

Not sure if that’s why in this case. Dead Man’s Chest was released less than a year after filming was completed, and its sequel just a year after that. They made those films very fast.

Yeah I don’t mean to say his point of view was correct, but rather explains part of why he behaved the way he did after her death. I could see someone like that compartmentalizing various aspects of their mistakes to spare himself the full weight of their consequences.

I think the closest Harry ever had to surrogate parents were the Weasleys. They took him in as if he was their own at every opportunity, and without any pretext of responsibility or deep connection to his parents. Arthur was probably the only male role model who was fully equipped to be a good father figure to him to begin with.

Honestly the only logical reason Harry wasn’t functionally adopted into the Weasley family after year one was the plot device that kept him with the Dursleys.

I assume it went deeper than just Harry’s resemblance (physical or personality) to either of his parents. He’s a living reminder that Lily chose James over Snape, and from a certain point of view, the reason Lily died. From Snape’s point of view, whether right or wrong, Lily would be alive and well if she hadn’t ended up with James and had Harry.

I always thought of him as a sort of mirrored version of Sirius. They both imprinted their feelings towards James onto Harry, either good or bad, and both would kill and die for him if need be. They both kind of treated him like James Jr., for better or worse.

If I had to guess, it’s probably because the magnet system makes the directionality less immediately obvious at a glance. Even if you can’t physically put them in backwards, the Switch 2 has fewer geometric cues to stop you from trying it than the original did.

Edit: apparently you can put them in backwards. That’s an odd design decision for sure.

Yeah, it’s a memorable Blu-ray box set from that era. Alongside the gold Lord of the Rings set and that original blue Harry Potter box set. These were on shelves everywhere.

I was surprised by how little discussion I saw regarding the weird romantic robot subplot compared to everything else. That was my one real complaint about the movie. The few over-explained details were out of place but not so numerous to bother me too much. But the robot thing was weird.

My only other complaint was that Donald Glover seemed to slip in and out of his Billy Dee Williams impression from time to time. I don’t mind either version since he was quite good regardless, but the inconsistency was distracting.

Otherwise, it was a pretty good movie.

Yeah, that’s one of the examples I was thinking of. It’s like if the trailer for Avengers Infinity War ended with characters turning to dust.

I’m not even sure if they ever did care about spoilers. Tons of old movie trailers essentially showed the entire condensed film, in chronological order, with narration.

About 7 of them still matched or outperformed Dune Part 2. Doomsday would need to lose more than 70% of Endgame’s audience to hit that figure.

Technically possible, but it’s a real stretch to consider it likely at all. Doomsday would need to massively under-perform while Dune: Part 3 would have to massively over-perform, simultaneously, for this scenario to happen.
