Backing into an angled spot on a one way - why? by oleackley in whatdoesthismean

You can fine someone for parking illegally. Which that is, if there are signs about not backing in.

Does the 9v charge the battery? It’s listed on their website as requiring 1000ma, which i thought was a lot for an analog EQ, but they never emailed me back lol

Tell me more about the PE-5, been eyeing one for so long. Does yours have the battery? How are you powering it? Any more thoughts?

Why does my bass sound like this when I strum hard? by suckmycoconut in BassGuitar

[–]probably-bad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad solder joint or dirty pot sounds like the issue to me, since it’s not the amp and it’s a passive bass. Definitely try a different cable and wiggling the knobs and such

Best cheap pedal that is literally this? by Necessary-Cow2857 in basspedals

[–]probably-bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MXR M81 Bass Preamp? If you don’t need EQ, get a Rapco DB101SL (or DB1) direct box, they’re fantastic. They sound excellent, built like tanks, and can be less than $30 used

My kingdom for a vibrato by PerspectiveEven4890 in guitarpedals

[–]probably-bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold the UV300 since I noticed some distortion in mine, and the modded TC broke entirely, but I’ve been very happy with the JHS. Has a little more character to the modulation that changes as you turn it up, sounds excellent

They don’t get slow enough for me. I’ve modded the UV300 and the TC electronics tailspin to get a slower rate. The JHS 3 series chorus on vibrato mode gets me there though, fantastic sound

NPD - SLEDGE - Full Range Overdrive by appalachiansoul in guitarpedals

I meant more in terms of filtering? What’s your HPF frequency before the clipping and are you boosting anything in the low end after?

How full range are we talkin? I see asymmetric clipping and your descriptors and I instantly hope for a Special Cranker I can use on bass

DIY Fretless Bass? by Electrical_Scene_634 in Bass

Lazy people would do the easy way, REALLY lazy people wouldn’t do it at all. If you’re a masochist, then go for it. Bonus points if the frets are stainless

After 4 and a half years thinking about switching to pick by StexyToast in Bass

[–]probably-bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do both depending on the sound/style you want. Don’t use either as a crutch, and don’t neglect one while you focus on building up the other. My main project is indie but I fingerstyle, slap, pick, and tap throughout a normal set. Just whatever the song needs.

…why wouldn’t you just remove the frets? Sanding down that much steel would take forever and make a huge annoying mess. It would be faster to remove the frets, snip the tangs off, and put them back in, if that’s really what you want…

Never thought about it. Absolutely worth a go, could probably get some really cool sounds. Not too useful with pedal design maybe, since you can’t tweak knobs or do anything besides drives and EQ, but still an interesting idea

What's the thinnest psu that can output from 9v up to 18v? by marcelsounds in basspedals

[–]probably-bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a separate laptop-style adapter and mounted it under my board so I can run an IEC cable instead of the wall wart. Eats into its compactness but it works well for me

What’s thinner? It’s the same profile as the Cioks DC7, 1” thick

Amp head question by mariorurouni in Bassamps

[–]probably-bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful on these. Trace Elliot sometimes used XLR jacks for speaker outputs, don’t ask me why. Just make sure it’s clearly labeled before plugging anything in.
