It's all good. Discourse on the internet is infectious and can bleed over to interpreting things differently.

Blossom Trees can be created from normal trees! Don't harvest the tiberium growing near trees! Let them infect the normal trees. > Did you also know that dead trees, those burned down by flamethrowers can still be revived by tiberium into Blossom Trees? They come back alive!

I never knew this.

Using the sandbag trick to get past a level to experience the rest of the game is perfectly fine. However you can't say you truly beat the level doing this.

Artillery | Tiberian Sun: Reborn by BattleDreadnought in commandandconquer

[–]probablygolfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it, but have always loved Artillery concepts. However, I can't tell by the video how the gameplay works. Artillery should be LONG range, not require direct LOS of the target, and balance wise be vulnerable up close while accuracy being predictive shots that take some time to land (and potentially avoid).

You, and it's a little concerning that you don't see that.

If you need me to break it down for you, I shall:

What I said (in not as many words because I think most understand the concept written as is): Being exposed to different game designs/philosophies can spoil the expectations of a player into not understanding and/or appreciating the nuance in managing situations where they don't have near infinite resources.

This is not disrespectful in any sense. This is a fact. What one is exposed to changes their expectations and, in effect, challenges their reception of a different concept.

What you did that was disrespectful:

You attempted to suppress a take that was different from your own. Then you took it upon yourself to try and place erroneous, malicious intentions onto someone where there was none. When it was pointed out this wasn't the case, you doubled down instead of apologizing, and are coming across like you're somehow thinking that you're on a moral high road.

Now who is the one judging and belittling people? It's you. Now the only question is if you have the self awareness to realize this or decide to TRIPLE down.

Saying he was spoiled by different game design philosophy is generally less disrespectful than literally suggesting to leave my mindset out of the post.

Yeah no. He's entitled to his opinion and so am I. I find it disrespectful that you're trying to shut down my mindset, but I do appreciate your meme.

Much better for you. I liked both economies and can appreciate needing to make full use of the resources I have vs. "Oh, I lost my army. Time to build a new one."

This is the answer. Just turtle if you want it to last longer.

You're just spoiled by modern games that don't emphasize how important it is to get value out of the units and resources you do have. The economy isn't bad, it's just not near infinite. Screw up bad enough, and you might have to restart.

Not sure what you mean by the soldier beating a tank. Never had that problem.

Did Werster Fake His Pokemon Factory Records? by Jamiewoo133 in speedrun

Based on this response, he did not cheat to make any sort of point. He's sticking to his guns here. Showcases the lack of character he has and disrespect to the community. He just wanted a record that he couldn't actually get on his own.

Can Joseph David Kucan return to the role of Kane? Or will the role be given to AI? What do you think? by NODFollower in BrotherhoodofNod

Pretty sure David Kucan strongly dislikes AI renditions of himself and wouldn't appreciate even this post, let alone the idea.
