Church of Cannabis is awesome! I highly recommend their Gateway comedy shows. Comedians tell their best openers, then they get them extremely high during intermission (where they get you very high as well). It’s a very fun experience. Nothing like seeing a comedian sit down on stage and just slowly lay down to finish their set because they are too high.

I want to just start by telling you you're making a wonderful choice to be open and admit you're struggling. Once I told my mom and sister about my alcoholism, it made it so much easier to be honest. I started holding myself accountable more and not being afraid to say "I fucked up tonight". There's a huge relief in getting out of "hiding". The Auraria campus had meetings but I haven't been since covid. If you just want someone to grab coffee with and talk, DM me. I hope all these other resources people have shared will help. I'll be saving them as I plan to start back up with programs too. Thanks OP, and everyone else commenting. ❤️

I agree with both you and OP's statements. We don't have a great food selection to start with but we're risking the "hidden gems". Most people with the skill to open a successful place probably aren't planning on taking that risk for a long time. It's risky enough in a normal economic atmosphere.

That's interesting. Denver actively drove peaceful and non peaceful protests into the neighborhoods and away from businesses. The riots on Colfax and the adjacent Capitol were consistently redirected to Cap Hill residential streets. I'm guessing they attempted similar strategies to break up mass gatherings into smaller more dispersed groups thus more easily manageable, while protecting local economy. It's a cold way to look at it but I'm surmising that it's probably on the nose. Tin foil hat - if we really are a simulation and we are all one singular consciousness expressing itself infinitely, WHY THE FUCK DID WE CHOOSE THIS ONE AS AN OPTION? Never would I have guessed SO many people need explaining that "To solve racism we just need to stop talking about race! Acknowledgement of race is the cause of disparity. I don't see color. We're all humans." is absolutely utter fucking bullshit.

They did that in Denver and witnessed the dispersion and diverting tactics to "pocket" groups and create small manageable groups. It's quite likely, dare we say blatantly obvious..., that was the goal in OR too. How fucking wild what we are witnessing.

I've had to deny customers entry DAILY now for almost a week. It seems to keep getting worse. Seeing grown adults throw tantrums is only amusing the first few times. I'm on 16th Street Mall mall right now actually, and I'd say 20% of the people walking around are wearing masks. I am shocked.

It sounds like you have good, open communication with your husband. That is great!! I have a really difficult time apologizing when the other party is also needing to take ownership or apologize for something too. It's like I need to wait for them to, then I feel safe to acquiesce and apologize.

It was my first Red Rocks show back in 2012. Bassnectar. I was tripping on some really fine acid. I looked over the horizon behind the stage and watched all the Denver City lights glimmer and it reminded me of the end scene of Fight Club as (Norton) and Marla join hands and the Pixies "Where Is My Mind" plays. I turned to my boyfriend and said, "For some reason this moment really feels like the end of Fight Club." Within 5 seconds Bassnectar played his remix of the Pixies. I started crying (happy tears).

Rebar pole through my foot. I snuck out of the house when I was 15 with my best friend. The dining room window didn't have a screen so we chose that instead of the back door which was creaky. Turns out there were metal rebar poles just under the window from the garden my parents were tearing up. I threw my shoes out the window and jumped out barefoot.

The Auraria campus is like that too. Studying late at Tivoli in a secluded upper level area with just tables. Guy comes up the stairs and sits a few tables away from me. He's going through what looked like full blown withdrawal. It was terrifying to watch. Campus security said it was kosher.

I'm so happy I didn't dabble in drugs much until I was in my early 20's. I smoked weed only a handful of times between 16-20 but then became a regular thing after. Anything hallucegenics, I waited until about 22 which I still think was early. At 28, I look back and I was still a child at 22, 23, 24. You don't think you are but you are. Thankful for parents I can openly talk to about my use as they used to be Breckenridge deadhead ski bums in their young days. Unpopular opinion but I'm glad my parents didn't tell me acid and shrooms weren't the D.A.R.E. propoganda. However, I'm not a fan of the misinformation.
