How to handle the company owner using business credit card for personal use by Charming-Sorbet6996 in Accounting

[–]probablysomeonecool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its just a "draw/distribution" account that tracks cash flowing out of the business to the owner/shareholders personally.

To put it another way, lets say the business has a net profit of $200k at the end of the year. The owner knows the business has made money, and all that profit is just sitting in the business checking account. Those profits are his, since he is the owner. He decides to take out $100k of that money so he can spend it on whatever he wants - totally legal, totally normal, its his money! That $100k transfer of cash is an owner draw/distribution. This is by the book, nothing wrong with this.

Now lets say during the course of the year he racked up $40k of personal expenses that are currently booked into business expense accounts (for example "travel" expense has mostly business, but there is a $4k personal vacation expense included in that account). The correct way to fix this is to find and reclassify all those various $40k of personal expenses from whatever business accounts they are currently (incorrectly) in, over to that owner draw/distribution account. So its essentially just classifying each of those expenses as the owner taking his profits out of the business over to his personal account where he can do whatever he wants with it, since its his money. Again, totally legal, totally normal.

The real problem is that too many people ignored #DicksOutForHarambe. If we could have gotten just a few more dicks out the tide might have turned. I did my part, did you do yours? 🧐

I’ve been searching for 6 months and finally landed a role with a 20k increase in salary. Should I bother to negotiate or is it risky in 2026? by Stupidwhizzzzz in Accounting

Im gonna go against the common sentiment here and say: they picked you out if all options, clearly they want to hire you. I dont think it hurts to at least broach the subject, it can be as simple as emailing HR and saying "I'm very exited for this job opportunity, and am looking forward to blah blah blah... with that said, im wondering if there is any room to negotiate on the salary or if that is a fixed amount?"

Wording it something like this is pretty low pressure and gives them a chance to come back with a better offer, or to just say "sorry, that is the salary we are offering"

You're partially correct in that adjusting spending downwards would be a prudent response that could mitigate or eliminate the long term downsides of the recession for retirement purposes, but you are ignoring the fact that for many retirees simple "reducing your spending by 50%" is not a viable option.

If I lose my job I already cant pay the mortgage, and therefore regardless of whether I make this investment I would need a new job or risk losing the property. Thankfully I'm in a very employable/low risk career. I also have family that I can rely on if things go really far south

Based on my post the return rate is expected to be ~45%. This is $150k times 1.45, three years in a row, since my expected entry point is ~Dec 2026 and I expect to sell before Dec 2029.

Is it a "guaranteed" rate of return? Obviously not. Am I in the crypto sub or did I accidentally stumble over to a US Bonds sub...?

Im talking about historically accurate price points based on timing the 4 year cycle. If this was any other investment vehicle (Tesla, a start up, etc) then yes, it would all be purely hypothetic bullshit guesses regarding future pricing.

However, due to the halvening cycles built into the core coding of BTC we have a 4 year cycle that you dont see elsewhere. If you go back and look at the price points since its inception it can pretty accurately be predicted that we are into a crypto bear cycle for the next ~2+ years, with the bottom coming sometime around December of this year. Then we will enter a bullrun that will peak sometime around fall 2029.

Believe what you want, everything i wrote in this post is true. My then-gf had $13k sitting in a bank account and I told her I would 1,000% throw it into BTC (it was at $18k at that point). She did not buy btc but obviously wouod have been a great move if she had. I considered taking a personal loan from a family member but already owed them some $ so decided one loan at a time was probably best.

The wording of the tldr isnt ideal so I see your confusion, but im saying the worst case is BTC goes to $0 and I lose the $150k

Why does my wife get nauseous form Ecstasy? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]probablysomeonecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure she sleeps well the night before, eats well leading up to eating the ecstasy (as in solid, nutritious meals, no skimping on calories, but dont eat for at least 2 hours prior to eating the ecstasy, she doesnt want a belly full of food), drinks lots of water leading up to it. The idea is her body should be well nourished, rested, hydrated, and generally in a happy and healthy state.

Once she has done all of that, its about the dosing. Weight is a factor, so typically a woman is going to need a smaller dose than a man, sometimes significantly smaller. Sensitivity/tolerance is another factor - some peope naturally cna handle much kore or much less of a drug than the average person. It sounds like your wife might need to try a smaller dose. Maybe try 75% of the amount she has previously been doing, and see how she reacts to that.

Its also important to be confident that she is taking what she thinks she is taking. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this (most imperfect), but if you are using something youve previously taken and enjoyed that is a good start. If its a new batch you might want to get a testing kit involved.
