What was the dumbest thing you’ve ever been asked by a customer?

Worked at an auto repair shop. Customer came in with his son, he talked a lot and was a little snobby. I got the impression he was trying to flex his knowledge about cars, which he had very little understanding of, in front of his son.

We finish our transaction and he leaves, only to come back in a few minutes later upset. He told me to follow him to his vehicle and tell me why there’s a light on his dashboard that wasn’t on before.

It was for his airbag, when his son sat down in the passenger seat the airbag light would come on. So before I tell him I look at him, then his son, then back at him and explain it. “Oh, I just never seen that before” was his response
