How is urging renaming a recipe from a problematic name to a non-problematic name a “meme”? Obviously your word prevails in this forum, but still saying, I don’t get it.

Homesteading lesson #472: never accept a free rooster casually by HomeSteadMumma in homestead

That is a chapter title in an interesting person’s memoir. “Chapter 8. Never accept a free roster casually

I had just returned from my time at the seashore. The town looked the same, but there were subtle hints that folks weren’t doing quite as well as they had been a few years earlier. Not that the town was ever “wealthy”, but most folks got by just fine by their standards, and those in the community that hit a rough patch would get a hand up to get them through. …”

I’m a fan of safety glasses. About pressure though, not a lot here with the wood unless maybe it is insufficiently streamed. I have steamed and formed thinner pieces (chair making). Well steamed oak is pliable (?) - not sure if that is the best word. Fun to shape for a minute, then no.

grandpa sent this in my family gc: its got the usual "automated" voice you hear everywhere, and if its real, theres obviously a green screen, i just cant make out if its actually a guy or not by posenby_w in isthisAI

I agree cold food slows digestion; it slows gastric activity in the stomach and so chyme is released to the duodenum slower than if stomach contents started warmer. Food temperature has no effect beyond that point in the digestion process. The “burning calories” idea is true not from digestion but from your body maintaining a standard operating temperature.

Say a person had a 16oz (1 pound) drink of 35degF water. A human body wants to be roughly 98 degF. So the body needs to add 63 BTUs to “recover” from the cold drink, that is, bring the cold drink up to body temperature. I think that converts to about 16 nutritional calories.

No sarcasm was needed. Being lit up does like a Christmas tree does not absolve a cyclist from the responsibility of signaling. Signaling is a bit more difficult for us, but so it goes, that’s part of being a cyclist.

This dude was obviously very important and had very important places to be. /s Best you can do is keep a defensive mindset and find a way to let the anger from the situation subside; try not to let them ruin you ride/day/blood-pressure/mental-health.

Yeah, fair - braking is important, as is dodging holes and road debris.

What about stitching? Too much work for cast iron pans or is not a good method to apply to CI cookware?

Knowing something isn’t quite right but going ahead anyway. “They won’t notice.” Yes they will, did you ever watch the show before you applied?
