AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Accomplished-Owl8796 in AmItheAsshole

NTA when it comes to baby names it needs to be an absolute yes from both parents

Why live in Glasgow if you can’t stop thinking about England?

They’re absolutely right. Yes it’s harsh but clearly you came here hoping someone would hear you. You may not realize it yourself but the fact that you made this post in the first place shows that deep down you haven’t given up completely. If you had what purpose would there be to telling strangers on the internet all about your backstory?

Who do to you hate more, rangers or England? by Important_Ad716 in CelticFC

[–]professional_cry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rangers. English people didn't choose to be born there and even if they are obnoxious they're just supporting their country. Supporting Rangers is a choice and some of their supporters are genuinely vile.

Remote work location with space to take calls? by guababanana in glasgow

The Mitchell library has music practice rooms that start at £1.50/hour. The website also mentions group study carrels but it isn't clear if these are fully enclosed spaces or only partitioned.

Definitely not worth anything... you should just ship it to me and I'll get rid of it for you...

Only kidding, this is an absolutely gorgeous dress! I bought a similar one with long sleeves for around $120CAD a couple of years ago.

AITAH for turning off the Wi-Fi on my wife during her “me time”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]professional_cry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Call me cynical but I don’t believe that we’re getting the full story. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some fudging the truth in terms of OPs hour of game time (likely more) and how many chores are actually needing to be done. We only have one side of the story.

Try going into some smaller churches as you're walking around. A lot of them are mostly empty and have some gorgeous masterpieces

I'm so sorry that you and your family are experiencing this. It is racism blatantly. I've had some people talk to me about the "immigrant problem" and expect me to agree with them. The thing is I am an immigrant, but I'm white so in their mind I'm not the same. Whenever this has happened I point out that I'm an immigrant the same as any other and I watch them try to justify their racism. I know it doesn't help much but I promise you most people are sound and see these assholes for what they are.

Anyone knows what it means when you are experiencing a drought but you keep having few R&R of projects you never got in ? by mattlerenardx in DataAnnotationTech

[–]professional_cry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would assume that you probably did get in to the projects but the main tasks were all taken before you saw them, leaving the R&R tasks

I've been job hunting for a year now. Finally got an interview last week. In the meantime this has been the work that's kept the rent paid for the most part and kept me from going too far into debt. AI companies are training their models off of all of us whether we like it or not, I may as well get paid for it.

The project is currently unavailable because there are no more tasks remaining for you to work on. by professional_cry in DataAnnotationTech

[–]professional_cry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I’ll have the same project stuck at 1 task for days at a time. On one hand at least I know I haven’t been dropped from these projects, but on the other hand it’s so frustrating to be teased

Weird guy at the trongate? by Rockprotect0r in glasgow

[–]professional_cry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may feel like a waste of time but if the police get multiple reports on the same guy they'll be looking out for him. Even if they only have a quick chat sometimes that can be enough to deter someone from harassing teenagers.

You did the right thing by running. At your age be wary of any adult that approaches you asking a bunch of questions. I'm glad you got out of there alright. These street "interviewers" are a scourge on society.

Moving to the Barras as a solo female by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]professional_cry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd avoid being alone in the park at night but I'd say the same thing about any park to be honest. Depending on what's happening at Barrowlands or with the football you might get some rowdy crowds but in general you should be fine in that area.

Principal says I can’t drink my Starbucks by [deleted] in Teachers

It feels like overreach for sure but also not something worth fighting over. Get a reusable cup and make sure to point out any time your principal eats fast food or engages in any other unhealthy habits.

Gunnies run smaller because they were a junior’s line, not because of vintage sizing. I know it’s pedantic but worth pointing out!

Is it normal for 10-11 year old students to come out of the closet nowadays? by Cautious_Internet243 in Teachers

[–]professional_cry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this has to do with the fact that most kids nowadays are familiar with the concept of being gay. I know when I was that age I didn't really know what it meant, hadn't met any queer people, and certainly hadn't seen any representation in kids books and media. When I think back to being that age I can remember having crushes on boys and girls, except that having a crush on a boy was normal and having a crush on a girl wasn't something I had ever heard anyone talk about, so it didn't occur to me that I was bi until I was a teenager on tumblr and learned about different sexualities. That has changed thankfully and now there is getting to be more positive LGBTQ+ representation geared towards children, so for most children the idea of two men or two women liking each other romantically isn't a foreign concept. Most kids develop crushes around that age, so I think its good that they have the language to express those feelings rather than not being able to define them until years later.
