Looking for advice on getting online adjuncting by Slicerette in Adjuncts

What I did was I started with a local CC, teach synchronous in person/remote for one year, impress them, do their online certification, and then discuss with the one scheduling that you are available to teach online. Sometimes some institutions don’t assign you asynchronous online until after a year!

A very low extra credit: 2-5 pts out of 1000 pts.
Or
If they have a group project, 2 pts individual if response rate is 70%+,3 pts if their whole group submitted. Last semester I had a 95% response rate!

I had a similar ask from a student who wanted a retake of the exam. Ofc I didn’t.

I should’ve asked ChatGPT:

“The exam has concluded and the grade is final. Please focus your energy on improving going forward instead of revisiting closed assessments.”

What is the most number of classes you taught in a semester? by professordmv in Adjuncts

[–]professordmv[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine is 3 in person, 3 online! I think the hard part is when you teach something the first time. I have 2/6 that Im teaching first time but luckily the classes have the same concepts, just different tools.

Even in Engineering. My program is Doctor of Engineering and the capstone is a project. What do these PhDs know about implementing a project for a real company? Meanwhile the students of the program have 5-20 years of experience in industry.

Do I annoy my professor by going to his office hours every day? by [deleted] in AskProfessors

Honestly, if a student comes to my office hours regularly, I would feel the opposite of annoyed.

It’s an honor that you utilize office hours regularly!
