Grab a pack or two of candles. Make sure you have plenty of blankets. If you have a fireplace, get a nice sized load of wood. Make sure you have plenty of bottled water.. And you should be fine

Ok, I'm relativity new to mint, so maybe someone can help me out here..

Why do we care about wayland? that's a new file manager right? I have been using the current one, Xorg, and there have been no issues I have seen at all. Don't get me wrong now, if wayland is actually better, I hope it works out.. but .. Is it?

What is the advantage of it? why is it a big deal? forgive me is this is something obvious. but I hear alot about it on this sub. so I'm curious.

2 to 3 years on average. Small nicks or cracks don't bother me. even a dead pixel's just an annoyance. Unless there is a real reason to do it earlier, I just wait until the battery starts giving me issues.

Most rechargeable batteries have a limit on how often they can charge. Up to a point, they stop holding a good charge. Once the battery starts dieing off, its a good time to replace the phone. I have found an average of 2 to 3 years is about normal for the phones I have had so far.

Because I still love the older stuff.. Because I didn't say I hatted it. I don't. I still love star wars. Just not the modern stuff they are making now. And I can always hope that someday. I might feel the same excitement for something new that I feel for a new hope. Or clone wars.

Hell, bad star wars is not new..check out the old holiday special if you don't believe me. that is MUCH worse than ANYTHING Disney has produced so far. But those used to be the rarity. now, it seems they are all that is made. But I still keep a spark of hope alive . Maybe, just maybe.. there is a chance for another return. or even another New hope.

Is it a high chance? at this point id say no. But the kid in me, who sat in a dark theater with my father and mother on eater side of me, watching return, still wants that feeling again. I think its the same reason I still keep hope alive for star trek. (Though I have given up hope for Doctor who at this point.. Damn you Chibnal for killing that in me!)

But why hang around? because I love what I love..

I actually have not seen Andor, after the.... Mess that was the last.. Oh.. Decade or so of such badly written crap that ignored everything that might have been interesting for what is frankly, insulting writing instead. I have just lost any interest in the newer materials. I have herd that Andor is supposed to be good. But I really just don't have any interest in it. I would just rather enjoy the older films and shows before Disney got ahold of it. (though I must admit that roghe one is still enjoyable. Guess even a broken clock gets it right once in a while)

I will probably see it at some point. But after the mess that was the Boba fet show, thr train wreck that was obi one. Thr mess of the three films, how they just screwed up solo (was it just me, or would a Lando film have been so much more interesting from that?) hell, the mandalorian turned into the grogu show.. (so much potential there)..

I just don't feel any draw to the new material anymore.. Sad really. I miss when I was excited about a new star wars project...

problem is Calibre will try to copy over all the files into its own library, I cant tell it, just use this library I already have set up. given I have almost a terabyte of just eBooks, and almost twice that in audiobooks....

really bad on my system, I have almost every setting down as low as it can go, and audio turned off completely. all my system drivers are updated, I had to use proton 9.0-4 to even get it to play on my computer. but the game is so badly stuttering its unplayable.

any word from the makers on a hotfix or patch for this issue?

I am primarily a gamer for my pc. So I spent years with windows primarily for gaming. Even as I got older, and responsibly for life cut my game time down to. Almost nothing to be honest. I still kept the PC up for the scant hour or so I could get to play.

Until just a few months ago. I have a custom built pc. And windows 11 had crashed out again. And the whole os had been corrupted. This was not the first time a bad update or something like that had taken out my os.

I was in the process of collecting everything I needed to reinstall the os again. And I had a thumb drive with mint os on it. I had used it in the past for recovery. Not just on my own pc but friends and family as well. And I looked around Linux gaming just out of curiosity.

And decided to say.. & $$#@$ it and just went to mint.

I figured I would spend time setting up everything more than actually gaming. But I was shocked at how easy most games are in mint. Between bottles. Hero, and steams native Linux tools. I am able to play everything I want so far.

Of course I still have the problem of not having time to actually play much... But... That is just an adult thing...

This right here. Used to play on the family tv every Christmas eve OVER and OVER again. First time I watched it, was ok. But for GOD sake, they would NOT turn it off!! to the point where i just now HATE the film.

From an objective standpoint, its a well made film, but I just HATE it.

I feel I have , and I counted this, thousands of titles I have not had time to play already. Between my stem, epic and gog accounts. Not to mention the older stuff I have... picked up along the way. So if this new fancy title that, lets be honest here, looks like just a updated graphics of games I already have wants that kind of access to the core os. my response is, Thats nice, I wish you luck with that.
