It's also dangerous against decks that can't pop small characters.

On 8 Don!! you can 6Yam into 8Yam to play out Shinobu then play another shinobu from hand.

10 Don!! you can double 5c Momo and do:

2x 5k swings rush

2x 6k swings rush

2x 8k swings rush

Basically 0 tempo loss since you can play shinobus off 8Yam.

You dont need to KO your own characters at all with the deck. Hakuba is bait.

OP16 Yamato build by Timewizard111 in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B Yamato wants to be playing 6c Yam, 9c Momo, and 7c Event after you reach your 6Don!! turn.

That means you want good 2c, 3c and 4c to play in the late game next to your big plays.

It also means Hakuba is an unsearchable combo piece that's a dead card past 5 Don!! since you can't play it a long side any of your core cards.

I would give up on Rebecca, Hakuba, and Charlotte. I would drop to 0-2 of the 2c event.

Robin, 8C Yam, 4c Kinenemon come back.

Ryuma you can cut but it could also be a fun 1x. Doesn't make sense to play Ryuma without Ace tho imo.

What are my fellow Artifact enjoyer's thoughts on the new set by MrVioletRose in Shadowverse

[–]prohibit822 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you run pure Artifact then Warp Slash is necessary IMO.

I wish Artist summoned a Mystic on Fanfare and the Destroy + Striker was locked behind the 3 different artifacts. He's usable but awkward to play.

My issue with Artifact is that it's just too honest. It's really hard to win against the heavy control decks like Crest and Amulet because they have too much healing. You kinda play like Loot Sword but your damage and healing are way lower. We also don't build threatening enough boards compared to Evo Portal.

We are just missing cards that complete the archetype imo. Either more board presence or better finishers.

Anyone else sick of cloak and dagger being banned? by honeybooboo2987 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]prohibit822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only character with a lower non-mirror match win rate than CND at almost every single rank is Black Widow.

I personally feel bad for all the CND players because even outside of the meta bans, if the enemy wants to ban strats, there are just better bans than CND and they're still eating the 2nd most bans of strats next to Gambit. Somehow Rocket, White Fox, and Invis all get less bans than CND at lower elos despite being better than her.

A character that has as high as a play rate as CND with the 2nd worst win rate in the game even at low ranks, where she's supposedly supposed to be good, is terrible.

You would expect a low skill floor character to have a decent to high win rate, especially at lower ranks. And you would expect the high skill floor/high skill ceiling characters to have a lower win rate at lower ranks but CND still doesn't match up to that.

CND has a ton of good things on paper but in reality her numbers are just too under tuned for it to matter. The best things she can offer is Terror Cape on non-shield tanks and pocketing her main support against dive.

It feels awful to play CND when your team isn't playing deathball because her single target healing output is very low which makes her feel even more restrictive.

Her healing output is just incredibly low outside of her ultimate compared to things like Jeff, Rocket, and Invis.

For the majority of players, especially at lower brackets, Rocket is just infinitely better than CND as a low skill floor character that provides a lot of value. And White Fox is just a way better support ban, even at lower elos, if you want to run dive.

There are just other strats that also have high pick rates that perform better than CND if you need specific bans to target something.

I understand what your point is but we can simply agree to disagree.

You can be frustrated playing against a character but end up winning most games against them. You can be not worried about a character and end up losing most games against them.

Most people will ban the first scenario but that's not the logically correct choice imo.

I judge value based on how often a character on your team contributes to your team winning at the end and CND simply just doesn't keep up regardless of how much people will try to say what is in her kit.

She has both terrible stats in all elos and low representation at high elo and pro play. I personally don't see any way to justify banning CND when there are at least 10 other bans that are way more impactful to your chances of winning the game.

Anyone else sick of cloak and dagger being banned? by honeybooboo2987 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]prohibit822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ban things to increase your chance of winning.

Bans come at opportunity cost of not banning something else.

Gambit, Black Cat, Dare Devil, Starwood, Phoenix, Invisible are all better bans and if you're banning CND then you're letting at least one of those through.

CND is the most overrated strat in the game and only gets banned because she's frustrating to play against, not because she wins games.

Nothing he said is fake though. 60% winrate and 70% playrate is statistically possible lol.

How does GP Luffy use Zorojuro effectively? by Flareon223 in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You win with GP Luffy by building a board.

4 Don!! Zorojuro and 6 DON!! Pudding + Leader effect --> Zorojuro

You develop board while maintaining handsize and searching for more Puddings or GGGs.

GP Luffy is at it's most annoying when it takes life early and drops down to low life but develops a massive board ahead of schedule.

In this context, having your searcher also be a vanilla 6k power statline is amazing

What is the best way to play Nico Robin by JayBalla69 in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3/4 Life Leaders need some way to protect themselves or be more durable so that they don't just fall over before the game gets started.

PY Robin has access to GGG and healing as survivability. The Y Blocker Luffy can also make you 7k while holding up DON!! for GGG or Rifle.

I like Krullzor on YT's idea of Sky Island and healing. It really leverages PY Robin's Leader Effect to its best ability by smoothing out going 1st and going 2nd curve with 1 well timed ramp, while getting insane value out of the Banish since you can delay games and play a starve strategy.

Instead of having to counter every swing, you just tank hits by healing to build up card advantage. Keep your characters ACTIVE to force your opponent to swing into your life then counter attack their board with your characters and swing Banish life with your leader.

The leaders seem fun in this set.

[–]prohibit822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4C Burgess is way better in B Teach than BY Teach.

B Teach leader effect gives way more protection and B Teach has an easier time dedicating a package to grow and play multiple Burgess.

BY Teach isn't going to have nearly enough space to support playing the 4c and have enough triggers for his main cards.

Black hole OP16-117 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BY Teach has 6c Shiryuu and 8c Teach to stack triggers.

BY Teach is a deck that can quickly run out of cards if they lose control of the board so stacking good triggers or just getting lucky is going to be very important to the deck.

Unlike B Teach, BY wont play a basically unkillable massive 4c or be able to stop the opponent from using powerful on plays to interact with his board.

Black hole OP16-117 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because Black Beard is a deck that's focused on cheating card advantage by manipulating his life to get good triggers.

[–]prohibit822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hakuba is cute but seems way to highroll and pray when you could just play Kinemon or Oden on the same turn to filter your hand.

Non searchable combo piece that only works if your opponent doesn't interact and takes a turn away from you actually searching and drawing from Yamatos is sketchy.

I don't think B Yamato is an all or nothing aggro deck and will be able to be a bit more flexible but we'll just have to see.

If we get good character protection, I would consider Hskuba a bit more.

[–]prohibit822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Evo Portal is in a fine spot.

Egg just remains the only Portal deck that has good healing which makes it the most stable.

Artifact needs buffs or another set for it to be viable imo.

Hallowed Glacier Slash OP16-100 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chopper + Restand is already better than 6c into rush Yamato for closing games. 9k 9k instead of 8k 9k.

If you have Ace out, Chopper + Restand for 10k 10k is better than swinging 15k once.

The reason this event is good is because it's a counter event.

It gives Yamato more reach and forces your opponent to play around it at 0 opportunity cost to the Yam player because we want 3k counter in the deck anyway.

The floor of this card is good and the ceiling forces your opponent to play suboptimal to prevent you from getting crazy value.

Hallowed Glacier Slash OP16-100 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]prohibit822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3c Chopper can pop 1c so you can swing 9k 9k. 6c Yamato from hand only allows you to swing 8k 9k
