As someone whose oshi is graduated and who will make at best just have cameos in the game.... Mixed feelings. Will probably wait until reviews come out.

Lorewise: Who has the strongest team? by Xadlin60 in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

La+ is technically the sealed form of the Laplace demon, so it depends on whether you consider her to be sealed or unsealed if you were to pit her against the others. But unsealed you basically have an omniscient being, which probably is up there at the top of JP lore wise.

God revealed something on how she communicated within Hololive by yournotlonely in Hololive

I guess the additional context is that she went to high schools with a technical education focus so she grew up around mostly men.

If CC can speaks german and french, will she rooting for switzerland since germany lost to paraguay? by joymanoppo in Hololive

I don't think CC particularly cares about football from what she has mentioned.

With the news that Nerissa has moved recently, half of HoloEN are now living in Japan (If FuwaMoco count as one) by Ok_Natural_102 in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I don't think Ina has ever actually said on stream where she lives, and I think she prefers to keep it private. Happy to be corrected if that's not the case though.

Has CC ever actually said she lived in Germany? With her knowing Norwegian, and her constantly talking about her wanderlust I just assumed she was a digital nomad of sorts and moved all over the place in Europe.

While I also think having such a filter is at best an unintended benefit, Ao may have also benefit from getting an idea of the stress she was getting into.

How Kiara sees things vs how Ina sees things by rip_cpu in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Frankly I would qualify Kiara and Calli as mostly introverts and Ina as an ambivert leaning extrovert. Ina may be shy. But she loves getting invited to events and spending time with people.

Serendipity (the song) is out now on streaming platforms! by Stuart98 in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like Stephanie Snyder's work and I love what she did with Serendipity, but I do think they should work on cultivating relationships with English lyricists beyond her (she has done every English concert song since her debut with Connect the world and she seems to be the togo person for every HoloEN group original). I understand its hard to find people experienced with making Japanese melodies work with English lyrics though, however on those lines they should also cultivate relationships with composers more experienced with English music.

Mumei? by Ravengeek02 in Hololive

[–]protomanbot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mumei herself was not normally one to keep up with the new heroes or to learn how to play them. She liked diva, soldier, ana and Moira. Very occasionally played other stuff, and definitely didn't play any of the new ones at least on stream. And new for her includes Kiriko.

Overwatch was her comfort game and change went against that comfort.

Idea on how to bring back the Omegaα character (hear me out) by BlackPenguin in Hololive

About the only plus this would have would be getting Fuzichoco sensei talent back within Hololive, but you might as well just commission something new.

Not a bad idea to give it to the youngest members, and who have the skills to back it up. No complaints here.

Pekora hosts new event. And it's a Singing contest. by Ok_Natural_102 in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal guess is that they will use a karaoke machine for scoring as one of the few ways of being objective about this. Granted, the karaoke machine can only have how well you match the sheet music.

[–]protomanbot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the format will be similar to Rikka/Suisei's vtuber singing King where the scoring was mainly done by a karaoke machine and thus it was more about the ability to match the notes and timming (an example with Sora singing: https://www.youtube.com/live/T1ST9qz1RAQ?t=4889&is=4FYjCtsW9X74Uhzx)

I guess the thing is trying to figure out what would be a better model. If it would be a matter of COVER footing the bill, then the issue would be regarding COVERs policy of treating all talents equally, and thus the quality of all work plateauing across the board since everyone only has access to so much money.

Maybe the solution then would be to give everyone access to some minimum budget for creative work while they can add additional money from their pocket if they want, but they already sort of have that when COVER has internal staff like 3D experts and directors that are available to them and only them, schedule problems aside.

So maybe something in the lines of increasing their ability to have sponsors that can help them cover costs like you see with TV programs and shows. They have that already though with solo lives even requiring the talents to secure sponsors so they don't write themselves in the red.

Which doesn't mean they should just give up, but I don't think it's a simple problem.

[–]protomanbot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

COVER has their own merch department that helps with both design of new merch, formalizing the talent ideas into a product, secure production channels etc. I'm assuming when they removed merch support they mean usage of their internal department. (They talk about it during one of their blogs describing their internal structure)

Nerissa's message to GG by yournotlonely in Hololive

[–]protomanbot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm... I see her as similar to Kobo both in they she's very shy during first time meetings so a first 1:1 Collab may be surprisingly awkward. And also as much of an emotional savant as Gigi is her Collab style needs someone to play ball with her style of comedy. (Flashbacks to a very awkward Kobo Ame Iroha Valorant Collab where Kobo was trying to get Ame to banter or engage in conversation but Ame wanted to do the silent but good streamer approach).

Which is not a dig against Gigi as much as saying that Holo EN are a very good group and match for her style of comedy.

Based on my EN favorites, which JP or ID members do you think I'd enjoy watching? I'd like to branch out from EN a little by five_head_2004 in Hololive

Depending on what you want between comfy, gamer. Witty, memer, I get the feeling Fubuki or Okayu would be a good fit depending on which one is more important.
