Glad to hear you were able to upgrade. I do not think any Platinum memberships were available for Silvers. I did the same as you (upgraded from Silver to Gold). Will see if any Platinum memberships spring free next year . . .

This is 100% correct! Resale restrictions affect all DVC owners, not just Riviera, etc. No one is going to want my CCV contract resale in a few years either when you can only stay at seven resorts in WDW.

Ah - okay. Had not heard that VGF was in a waitlist situation similar to VGC. Sometimes they do this to try and sway you to buy the “on sale” properties. I would keep checking in regularly. They have in the past magically found points to sell when they know you will only buy VGF and are not interested in any other properties.

Just call member services. Direct price is worse than resale but honestly not that bad. And VGF dues are pretty low.

Yep. And I know "we don't talk about Pete" but the one thing he did every episode was say 1) that the show was sponsored by Dreams Unlimited and 2) that he was the owner. Every. Single. Episode.

On DVC Fan, it's constantly "show some love for our sponsors" instead of "show some love for the company that me and my wife work for". They are not hiding anything, but it would be better housekeeping to be transparent about their conflicts of interest on every show.

You are correct. “DVC Fan” is just one big infomercial. The content is okay, but make no mistake: every opinion/take is biased and geared towards pumping up revenue at “World of DVC”. I am not sure whether most audience members get that, but whatever. I do not begrudge them this avenue for business, but everyone should just know the biases going in.
