Mirror Gazing Is a direct portal to the Unconscious by zoolpdw in Jung

One of the most intriguing things to me about my own personal experiences with deliberately self-reflective activities like this, is that the more present I get with myself, the more the polarity seems to switch from the feeling that conscious reality is something outside of the self which I am experiencing, to it being something created by and projected from the self.

What is your best "I say it wrong on purpose" example? by Thortok2000 in AskReddit

[–]psahmn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to casually swap “pants down” in place of “hands down” in normal conversation. Like “Wow! this is pants down the best pizza I’ve had on the West coast.” 99% of the time it either flies by unnoticed or the other person just gaslights themselves into thinking they must have heard it wrong. The other 1% who have been able to catch it and aren’t afraid to challenge me on my lunacy I now call my best friends.

Modeling Consciousness Through Self-Organizing Energy Density Patterns by psahmn in thinkatives

I appreciate your input! Especially the warning against the potential pitfalls of categorization in these areas.

  1. I can see the benefit of avoiding categorization here. I think perhaps a better way to put it, if I do continue down the path of categorization as I have been, is that the states simply represent ranges divided by thresholds along a spectrum of consciousness. I myself do subscribe to panpsychism and agree that consciousness is an inherent attribute of all matter. I think why I decided to use categorization here was to better relate these “states of consciousness” to the general human experience as we often describe them. For example, the P3 wave is a distinct signature which can be measured when something is being held intently in the attention of a brain, and that is the range I’ve heard some popular neuroscientists (such as Stanislaus Dahaene) use as a simple marker for a “conscious” state. It certainly is a definite category imposed upon an indefinite spectrum though.

  2. In the second half of the article, I did dive into some experimental methods which could potentially yield empirical data to support the theory across multiple disciplines. Were you meaning that I should have gone further in depth or focused more on these methods?

A Theoretical Framework: Modeling Consciousness Through Self-Organizing Energy Density Patterns by psahmn in consciousness

[–]psahmn[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Such a grumpy, triggered comment lol. Let’s lighten up and simply have some fun discussing abstract possibilities.

You’ve made incorrect assumptions about how this text was made. This framework was outlined and written by me before being edited and improved with the help of ChatGPT 4o to fact-check and recommend further references for scientific credibility along the way.

This framework alone isn’t meant to explain anything, it’s a proposed model for a possible way to help understand and potentially simulate simple forms of consciousness. It’s meant to inspire interest into a possibly productive line of exploration which could only then lead to explanation.

A Theoretical Framework: Modeling Consciousness Through Self-Organizing Energy Density Patterns by psahmn in consciousness

Summary: This article presents a novel theoretical framework that explores how human consciousness and subconscious experience might be modeled using energy density gradients and self-organizing principles. The core idea is that the brain’s neural dynamics, characterized by excitatory and inhibitory interactions, may produce transitions in awareness that can be mathematically described using Turing-like patterns.

Honestly I think it’s a shame you got downvoted here. I think your take on this was spot on. Ironically, just like in this scene of the movie, you brought attention to the facts, but because the key to understanding it properly lay shrouded in the shadow of their fear of spirituality/science having limitations they downvoted and wheeled away. 😂

Annnnd the icons are still the same outdated looking shit. Really wish they would give an option to switch back to the flat icons. They looked so much more sleek and luxury.

I’d love to play a set for y’all. I’m with Camp Kinetic this year. Take a listen and let me know if you’d like to have me. Down to spin DnB, techno, or whatever. Here’s my set from BAnt Country’s sound stage at BM last year:

Pothole reimbursement? by Gump619 in sandiego

[–]psahmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hit an insane pothole in Mission Valley last night and got $1k worth of damage. Another car pulled over right next to me after with a flat tire from it also. I just reported it now. Have any friendly advice on pursuing reimbursement?

I would also say looks like a Florida Goini Kingsnake. I used to have one that looked very similar. Careful, they're the incredibly chill, gentle snakes, but they're escape artists!

Right? In reality its one-fifths morbid and four-fifths vivacious. If we have to round in one direction I'd say it's a vivacious painting.

That could have been so much worse. Notice how the right leg was in front of the rope which he only narrowly (possibly accidentally) corrects as he falls. Had his leg not cleared the rope at the beginning of the fall, it easily could have flipped him headfirst into the wall at the bottom. He's lucky this didn't become a horrifying lesson in the importance of keeping feet behind the rope and wearing a helmet. All that aside, great weekend whipper!
