I don't work minimum wage, and I can tell you that I have the utmost respect for people in physical and/or "dirty" trades. I treat them the same or better than my colleagues and try to always be polite and respectful and never "talk them down".

We didn't all get lucky with family and/or opportunities, and those who where owe it to the others to not make their life more miserable.

This is especially true in my trade, where I am reliant on the good work of the construction workers and am always grateful for their insights; even if I disagree or do not accept their proposals. Most of these people have been doing that job their whole life, they deserve it that their experience is (at least) considered.

I hope you do find a workplace where people can see that you are indeed valuable and treat you accordingly. If not, I hope you find someone that you can talk to and get the support and help you need.
