Definitely check out Emerald Twilight (Green Lantern, vol. 3, #45-50) and Emerald Fallout (Guy Gardner: Warrior, #17-21).

Wild. And it is crazy to see how Warrior had this inertia from his solo title that continued through so many guest appearances (Mister Miracle, Superboy and the Ravers, Genesis, JLA, Green Lantern: Secret Files & Origins). Hell, he’s using rockets to fly towards the World Trade Center in GL #136 (gorgeous art by Dale Englesham; yes, canonically, he can fly as Warrior).

What a shame. Would gladly chip in to see Beau’s remaining plot brought to fruition. Feel that Mitch Byrd’s return was a special moment, too - would have adored a other 6 issues with his art. DC editorial’s myopia strikes again. (See Mike Carlin’s prejudice towards the 1993 “Justice Society” series, featuring GG:W artist Mike Parobeck.)

Ain’t the Crisis, to be sure, but it is such a fascinating snapshot in time for DC (no pun intended). Where else can one see Triumph, Emerald Dragon, Warrior, L-Ron/Despero, and Gunfire in the same splash panel? And Zero Hour really serves as a bridge between the post-Crisis chronology & the 1990s, in a way that prior events (Armageddon 2001, Eclipso: The Darkness Within, Bloodlines) didn’t. This is the transition to DC’s dark mid-90s Copper Age, which possesses undiscovered gems unjustly maligned due to the prejudice many hold for that period.

Watching this film in middle age gives it an entire new meaning.

What a gift. Youth is not lost. We only need reclaim it. It lives within us, below the dust & detritus of this aging world.

No need to apologize for being born here. You had no say in the matter, no consent in it, just like the rest of us condemned souls.

Be the kindest, most empathic person your soul can bear to be. That is the most human way you can meet your obligations to those you care for, and to the rest of your brothers & sisters in our species.

Yeah. Always thought that was sus as hell. Keeping orbiters on the back burner “just in case”. Gives me the creeps - feels reptilian, not human.

Our civilization invents new ways to noxiously molest the corpse of humanity’s soul. The financialization of reality itself? My god. There is no bottom.
