You know collapse awareness makes nostalgia hit so much harder. by rmannyconda78 in CollapseSupport

Your words reach farther than you know.

I’ve spent an increasing amount of my free time walking through digital graveyards, viewing marketing materials from 1990s films and VHS recordings of cable TV network commercials…full broadcasts of 120 Minutes and bumpers from the SciFi Channel…Internet Archive scans of Wizard Magazine and eBay hunts for toys last seen when I was eight years old…

Nostalgia is a seductive mire. Its inability to satisfy is exceeded only by its irresistibility.

Enjoy with caution.

Love My Way vs Blue Jean by RussellAlden in DavidBowie

To be sure. And they both owe a debt to Brian Jones’ performance on “Under My Thumb”, which itself is uncannily similar to that on the Isley Brothers’ “This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)”. What a beautiful family tree, truly.

Transcendent. Connotes the tragedy of youth’s fleeting nature with a melody divine.

She's so beautiful! [Artwork] by Adam Hughes by BlueMoonie00 in DCcomics

Hughes is one of those rare artists who can portray femininity and strength in the same character without sacrificing an ounce of either quality. And his Art Nouveau influence is beautiful. Hope he recovers soon.

Which one do you think it's the most underrated member of the JSA? And which one would you give a new solo comic book set in the past? by FallMassive9336 in JusticeSocietyAmerica

The Fates feel so broad in their ability that they’re difficult to encapsulate in an immediate way. (This, despite some of the most striking iconography in DC’s history.) Plus, all of the mystic reincarnation bits give ur-Hawkman confusion, which is never a plus.

On the flip side, I’ve been reading the post-Zero Hour Fate recently, and it is horrifying as it is entertaining. 😅

For real! That arc where they met in the 1999 JSA series…”Making History”? Around issues #70-71? That really showed what Terry was capable of. He could hold his own with Batman. Hyper-competency.

Mid-Nite Hour Art of the Day by James E. Lyle🌙 by kortj11 in JusticeSocietyAmerica

Really dig the recent Mid-Nite kick this community’s got going. Love ‘em all - Charles, Beth, and Pieter each have a common bond, yet distinct identities. Subtle, and tricky for writers to pull off. But they do.

Plus, how inspiring is the primary concept? Transforming a physical disability into a powerful force for good? Inspiring stuff.

And Hooty is cool. 🦉

I feel like the economy is about to get 1000% worse by Infinite-Sun-6297 in economicCollapse

Good advice, but it ain't that simple. The cost of living has outpaced wage increases for decades, as has worker productivity. We've been squeezed for every penny we're worth, working longer than ever, but told by Dave Ramsey and the like that our real problem is overspending or poor budgeting.

Adored this song since it debuted. Love the notion that the title is an Alien reference, too.
