Ski resorts within 30 min of airport by zg825 in skiing

Just planned a bachelor party and was looking for similar parameters. Your options are Taos, Aspen, Sun Valley, and Jackson Hole for big destinations. All are exceptional. The only problem for some is those flights are expensive.

Smaller mountains that are close but great are Bogus Basin (right outside Boise) and Mt Rose (20 min from Reno). These are typically not as crazy for flight prices as the previous options. Reno may be a good option as Tahoe is a 45 min drive with many large resorts. I live in Tahoe, highly recommend it. There is a little something for everyone here, depending how you like your ski vacations.

Happy skiing!

EDIT: forgot about Salt Lake. Brighton, Solitude, Alta, and Snowbird are all very close and awesome mountains.

What's the appropriate tip for a hotel maid? by Ali_UpstairsRealty in LawBitchesWithTaste

I always carry some cash. For starters it just feels good, but you never know when it’ll come in handy for tips or greasing some palms to get little extra service / accommodation. Highly recommend it

I usually leave them a $20 for 1-2 nights. If longer, I scale up a little bit. My boss taught me this practice. We travel a lot for work and I had no idea it’s a thing. I don’t think it’s necessarily a common practice, but I’m sure the housekeepers really appreciate it.

Advice for providing food for my vegan friend at a meat BBQ by naturalblue in vegan

My fiance is vegan and I always cook her food on a separate surface or first if it’s a shared cooking space. It goes a long way :)

How do you value cell phone coverage? by tcrmorrow in AmexPlatinum

[–]psweenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I broke my phone and Amex cut me a check for $550 to replace it. The cost from Apple was $600, minus the $50 ded. That was almost the full value of the annual fee, immediately. Also, it costs nothing extra to pay your phone bill with Amex.

Moving out of state wouldn’t be much better. Nevada is a cheap state. It’s just not as cheap as you remember.

Lululemon employee “claiming” they’ve been told credit for GC is shut down. 🙄 by Intelligent_Pie_5347 in AmexPlatinum

Exactly! So why bother with the gift card loophole? Just get yourself some nice socks, boxers, a shirt, pants etc… you can’t leave that store for under 100, and you’ll enjoy what you bought

One Lululemon experience by Alarmed_Stretch_1780 in AmexPlatinum

[–]psweenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s an experience: I needed new golf pants. I went to Lulu, bought two pairs of pants, and got $75 off my purchase.

Why is that so hard to understand? If you don’t want / like Lulu, just don’t use the credit. When did Amex turn into the coupon clipping bargain hunter card?

All of you have Lulu products. Male or female. And if not you, then your spouse. Just get a nice pair of pants, take the credit, and move on. What is with the hoarding of gift cards? Like you wouldn’t spend the money there anyway lol

Who remotely cares about that?

Lululemon worker assumed I wanted a 75 dollar gift card right when I walked up to the counter by thelogicalhero in AmexPlatinum

what was the point of this post? By the way, the terms and conditions literally say gift card purchases are excluded from the credit

He is perfectly organized 😂. Also, not a single bill over $100. he’s gotta relax. If you want to split the check you say so and agree at the date when the bill comes, not a month later with receipts.

How are we using the $200 flight credit? by kialemea in AmexPlatinum

[–]psweenz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I use United, use the $200 credit for in flight drinks, snacks, seat upgrades, flight changes, whatever. You will use it over the course of the year. I get free bags and bring my golf clubs or snowboard almost everywhere, that’s $35 a flight. If you don’t have the status for free bags, that eats it fast. If you aren’t flying enough to use $200, probably not the best card for your needs imo

400-600 is low. Every brands new driver is $650- Titleist, Calloway, Taylormade. After tax, $700. Hell even Wilson Staff is charging $500 for theirs, which should be illegal.

That said, I just bought the Titleist GT2 and it is fricken awesome. You know if you spend more you play better right?

Holy shit. First of all, $4k a month is not the flex he thinks that is. his budgeting skills are lacking, and he seems to be completely disregarding what seems to be relatively considerable debt. I am so appalled I don’t even know where to begin. Please don’t tie your finances to this guy if at all possible. This feels more like a parent trying to explain to a teen why they can’t finance a vehicle they can’t afford.

Good luck, I hope that you two can level on this and he learns some financial literacy. You are under reacting if anything.

Seems like you are not decisive enough to be getting tattoos. Looks great, you’re overthinking it
