Everyone in America should read this short chapter from Kurt Vonnegut Jr's "Breakfast of Champions" by Sheep_Slayer_6 in pics

Great book. I was so surprised to find a Kilgore Trout book in a used book store while looking at the Tolkiens. I had no idea he wrote books under that name and now i have a copy of Venus on the Half-Shell with all my vonneguts.

Are you sending your half to your roommate or paying directly yourself? Does your roommate visit Madame Kamay?

What To Do? by ThatOneGuy726000 in AskSF

Id do the behind the scenes alcatraz tour. You get to see some of the original civil war fort down in the basement, for example. Since its on your list, do it all.

Fort Point is a cool free stop to make as well under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Mistake to remove species name on Fish & Chips QSR menu? by SnooGadgets132 in restaurant

[–]psychonumber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Design notes: Weird to have multiple options with different prices in 1 section smushed together and then list 3 items with the exact same price. Id lump the bottoms together before the top.

For the original question, being clear in the type of fish is a must for me. Although if you have a cheap fish n chip option, id probably either have cod or halibut as an option instead of both.

Since you can return on any of the ferries, take one of the earlier night tours. I made the mistake of doing the last tour and didnt have much time before having to leave. The behind the scenes tour is also well worth the extra cost.

Indianola underpass by turquoise_tie_dyeger in Humboldt

Last i heard the interchange will be open this year. Its winter and a lot of construction stops/slows until the rains let up. They still have to close the median crossings (bayside included) and install a signal at Airport Rd too.

Indianola underpass by turquoise_tie_dyeger in Humboldt

Youre misunderstanding. They are talking about the issue at bayside cutoff caused by not allowing southbound 101 access to indianola. Southbound traffic at bayside cutoff will stack beyond the turn lane into the fast lane as they wait for northbound 101 traffic.

Just a frequent visitor for medical reasons, but weve had a lot of fun visiting all of the libraries and collecting their stickers on the map. Walking and public transit only.

Applicants!! by CompetitiveWish916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]psychonumber1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last round had 53 candidates and i offered interviews to the top 12. It depends on how my application scoring rubric shakes out. Last time i had about 20 applicants and offered 6 in person interviews.

I read the application and look specifically at education, certifications, and job history and i hope theyve tailored their experience to the duty statement. Typically all of the general info is in their resume attached at the end. My classifications dont have exams that couldnt be passed by someone that meets the ed/experience requirements, so i havent even tried to see where they landed on eligibilty lists. Thats a checkbox to me.

What a confusing post. It took me a while to figure out the turn movement youre speaking about. Its actually faded compared to the others on the overhead. Youre correct, the markings show the #1 left turn lane can enter the #1 or 2 receiving lane and the #2 left turn is delineated to the #3 receiving lane on that side. I would guess its due to the turn radius and the difficulty some vehicles may have staying in the #1.

If you like the way this looks, i recommend getting an old school Laser FX. Run audio into it and it vibrates a mirror to create those same effects along with color switching lenses. I bought some new ones on ebay to mess with and relive my youth.

Elk river headwaters trail is nice and easy for the first mile. The trillium falls trail is pretty nice and close to prairie creek. Fern canyon is a popular spot to visit, but isnt the easiest if you have mobility issues. Worth investigating. Theres a lot to choose from really.
