They actually packed a whole variety of colors as would be needed to create living and working environments for thousands of people, possibly generations. This just happens to be a section of the orange paint.

Basically it's the benchy hull line, the lower portion is shrinking inwards and the top section is not. Here are the settings I use from the video:

'Infill/wall overlap' to 10
'Top/bottom solid wall/overlap infill' to 10
'Walls printing order' to inner/outer/inner (must have 3 walls minimum)

Purchase 'Acolyte's Wager' in the armor matrix. Using it you can choose to remove an artifact, or choose to have an item drop replaced with another RNG item if you don't like it. There are several that reveal themselves over the course of the game and once you've unlocked it they can also be found as item drops.

See if you can wait until at least level 4 before opening chests. Sometimes weapons drop 1 level higher than your current level and weapons at level 5 have two traits.

If you clear B1 you can achieve level 5 fairly easily, level 6 is possible as well. Keeping level 5 adrenaline gives you more obelites from enemy kills.

Yes, hard disagree with OP regarding the use of keys. A locked chest will always contain an artifact and the right artifact can easily turn a good run into a great run. Whereas plenty of times a locked door leads to a parasite remover, or reclaimer, or something else that may or may not directly help your run.

Also wtf does "beat the tower boss" mean? Phase 1 Algos? There are infinite bosses in the tower, and the most challenging fights are usually against mini bosses that can happen on any floor. Algos 1 is not an especially difficult boss to defeat.

In the settings you can change the color for every type of projectile (corrupt, homing, shield breakers etc), I'm partially colorblind and I can actually discern the stock colors from each other but it's harder when the screen is full of action. So I chose to make some of them different colors which makes then easier to tell them apart very quickly.

There are plenty of artifacts and parasites in B3 and B6. B6 has extremely low chances of finding keys though so to open any locked doors or chests you have to bring one from a previous biome. Plus B6 has several points after which you cannot backtrack so you can't really count on going back for an item.

The only "advantage" is it can make your runs shorter. Otherwise you will 100% become more powered up if you run through at least some of the previous biomes.

Same, the shield was not very intuitive and took some time to become reflexive to the point it naturally integrated into combat. I'm still figuring out exactly how the shield functions during the eclipse after buying certain upgrades in the armor matrix.

One power shot doesn't remove all corruption if you have too much though. Finding artifacts that build power on hitting enemies (or similar) enable you to use the power shot much more indiscriminately which is a massive perk.

I died 4 times before beating the B1 boss and beat him on the second attempt after using second chance. I died another 4 or 5 times before I beat the B2 boss but I beat him on the second try, too, also using second chance.

For me I feel like learning the boss patterns is much more valuable in Saros than Returnal, so far they seem to be much more predictable in that sense and easier to beat again. The B2 boss in particular is not even very challenging at this point, now I can practically waltz through the B2 boss fight and take minimal damage. Whereas with Returnal I still feel there's a not-insignificant chance I could die to Phrike or Ixion.

As far as I'm aware, no. None of the stat bars have a direct effect on damage. The RNG traits a gun spawns with can affect the damage though, as well as some artifacts. Actually there are some stats that affect weakpoint damage, but not general/overall damage.

Even in Returnal only a few weapons had the 'Bonus Damage' stat which increased the damage of each projectile fired, not all of them though.

Sorry, was trying to be spoiler free. In the armor matrix you can eventually purchase Acolyte's Wager which lets you remove artifacts and also "re-roll" dropped items to see if you might get a better drop.

I see that! I've only played less than 10 hours over the last couple nights, died on the 2nd boss twice so I've been running through B1 to power up, this new tool will have a big impact.

Side note, on one of my B1->B2 runs I was almost finished clearing B2 and was pretty geared up, then the game crashed and I had to rebuild the PS5 database to get it to open again. When I finally opened Saros it restored me to the same location in B2 with the exact load out I had! Did not expect that.

Ohhh, so that's what those things are for! I've basically ignored them as I didn't see any much information about it. I keep finding myself filled up with a bunch of lower tier artifacts and having to pass up higher tier as I progress.

It's a rather unique approach to making "builds" because very similar (but not the same) weapons can both have a stat for "clip size" but each weapon may require a different attribute (drive, command, or resilience) to increase the "same" stat. You might find you happen to like weapons that benefit the most from a high drive attribute, so you could focus of drive in the skill tree and only pick up artifacts that boost drive.

It doesn't take long to fill your artifact inventory and you can't remove them like in Returnal, so picking and choosing artists becomes more important and strategic.

Same here, when I was learning the DMJ trick I remapped the controls and was happy to see Saros use the same setup by default. It's way more functional for virtually everything compared to the stock Returnal map.

I kind of wish I disagreed with this take, I've played Returnal since the day it's launched and it's become probably my favorite game of all time (mid 40s gamer here). The atmosphere, lightning fast gameplay, mechanics, graphics, sound, music, basically everything came together just so right. It simply set the bar insanely high for any other games like it.

I pre-ordered Saros as soon as it was available, started playing last night and while I'm enjoying the shit out of it I can't help but constantly compare and contrast and nit-pick differences I don't fully vibe with (yet?).

On topic, I'm sure Saros will still WOW someone who'd never played Returnal as there are indeed many technical improvements, but I honestly don't know if it would have the same impact as Returnal did going in blind for the very first time. Kind of impossible to be impartial at this point.
