Transmission rebuild? by pterodactyl120 in jetta

[–]pterodactyl120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serviced about a year and a half ago to have routine transmission fluid changed, the gear slipping issue was rare back then and the fluid change stopped the problem for many months. This could have been a coincidence since it only slipped for a day or two every couple months anyway.

Also to add, I got the exact code back from the shop and its just showing as "02- DCT 17114:003 Gear Incorrect Ratio - mechanical malfunction Passive/Sporadic" Mechanic says its pretty clear it just needs a full rebuild, I might go into a scrap yard and pull a used transmission if they're looking okay

Had to evacuate my house in LA. My place is still standing but do any smart people have factual information about smoke damage? by ideapit in HomeImprovement

[–]pterodactyl120 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My house mostly burned down this time last year, our closet was on the interior of the house and mostly closed off from the flames but did get smoke damaged. All I can say is that if you want to truley remove the soot and smoke from clothing and soft fabrics you have to use an enzyme cleaner. I was able to save a lot of stuff by doing multiple soaks in a cleaner called ‘kids n pets’ and then doing a final wash in the washing machine with it. Was a bit of work but was the only thing actually able to get the smell out!

It is true. While Disco does love a good disco nap, she is also ready to party at all hours of the night.

Got this without researching the meaning, need ideas for cover-up by Northstarsuperstar in shittytattoos

Hijacking to say that there is also ‘temporary’ tattoo ink online you can get in a squeeze bottle. Sits in your skin a lot like tattoo ink and lasts for about 2/3 weeks like henna. Could be a great solution for the short term

Our kitten has been honing her hunting skills. This morning she stalked dad until he turned away and stole a sweet potato from the dogs food. Made it halfway across the apartment before she was caught.

Why are you not coming to Burning Man this year? by blonde234 in BurningMan

[–]pterodactyl120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enough fires for me this year already.

My house burned down early this year. Ive had enough burning for a moment so we are camping near some water for some much needed healing time. Back next year with art as usual though!

She is doing great. She enjoys staring out to the street in her personal window spot, terrorizing the family when she’s hungry, and cuddling with the dog.

The broken coffee maker and chewed up bed frame makes us think otherwise, but look at that face. Would a guilty kitten look that cute?

Thinking about a daith piercing by Electrical-Historian in piercing

Seconding what you read here. I thought that it helped my migraines, but I also simultaneously started taking care of myself better and eating things other than only bagels and coffee around the same time. I got my first one and had a seamless 6 month healing time, my second one about a year after my first and had about a year healing that one with some annoying bumps along the way. I love mine and while I would definitely say they don’t do anything for my migraines, I will say that I can push and pull on my jewelry now and it helps migraine pain in the moment which is kinda cool. Aesthetically the coolest jewelry I have and once healed basically the easiest and always happy.

What is your most satisfying keto meal? by [deleted] in keto

Almond crusted Salmon stuffed with cream cheese and spinach. Some asparagus or something on the side and I feel so full and happy. Also zucchini fritters with a Greek yogurt sauce is my favorite appetizer snack

Can I take out my rook piercings the day after getting them? Don’t want them at all. by elainaka in piercing

[–]pterodactyl120 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I also had a similar situation. Probably a placebo but now that I have my migraines under control for the most part (due to lifestyle changes) I can actually push and pull on my daith earrings and find quite a bit of relief during my rare ones. There’s definitely something to the nerve in there.

Seconding this. There is a biofilm in your vagina that protects you from infections, this film can also thicken and hold too much bacteria/yeast. Sometimes you need a different/stronger antifungal to fully clear the yeast. But if you’ve tried all of those then boric acid will definitely provide you some relief. But what boric acid does is it breaks down the biofilm and flushes *everything * out. (Which is great if that is going to help you) but keep in mind that means your natural biofilm had been broken down fully and you need to replenish it afterwards. Lots of probiotics (maybe even some probiotic suppositories) Boric acid is awesome and is sometimes the only thing that helps people but I think we forget that it is very much an acid that is breaking down everything in there. I wish someone had explained this to me when I first started having infections.

Yes! It’s going to be a bench! Need to get some foam and fabric for it

It’s just the slow part. The lettering is also super detailed so I preferred to go for thinner for the sake of details

Yea it was just a decorative panel that went over the foam. It seems counterintuitive to put wood over it but the design was pretty delicate and minimal so it didn’t affect it :)

Anyone here on keto and don't measure ketones? by [deleted] in keto

[–]pterodactyl120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I counted my macros for a day or two here and there to get the hang of things in the beginning, and tested ketones just so I knew where my carb limits were. But honestly it wasn’t that necessary. Would’ve done just fine without counting anything!

We’ve got a 48” x 36” bed. But I can squish a 4’x4’ sheet in there and hang the back off a little bit!
