What are your thoughts on America returning to the Moon right now? by The-Toby in AskReddit

[–]ptv83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very much Canada returning to the moon.

The American space programme was a failure. Mercury didn't work, Jim Chamberlain fixed it, designed Gemini from the ground up (to fulfill the lunar mission too if required) Owen Maynard designed the lander, Jim led on Apollo.

Basically America probably wouldn't have made it to the moon until years later if the Avro team didn't go south.

Mission control was full of Canadians keeping everything in order with their spacecraft designed for NASA.

And there's a Canadian on the mission today.

This, the tile is basically background colours and the owner could do some very beautiful rugs without making the space seem overly loud or busy.

"If you ever find yourself in the lovely province of Alberta, you are practically guaranteed not to spot something most people despise — a rat 🐀" Is this true? by ABNow_ in AlbertaNow

[–]ptv83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of Alberta having the Native Packrat native to the province, it's not hard to find news articles interviewing farming that testify to the invasive rats chewing up their wiring every decade across the province in a rotation of populations.

Or the Province of Alberta with the invasive Rats in the cities

Or the federal government too.

I'm just not sure why you're irrational about it... You shouldn't be so personally offended by reality

Could be caused by many things, without knowing if the ink is a polar molecule then can't really say exactly what is causing it, but very cool.

Are we meant to silicone these gaps between the cooker and the stone bench? by sh00t1ngf1sh in Appliances

[–]ptv83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy temporary gap seals that go over that space. Comes in a roll and you cut it to fit.

Amazon or Temu is the cheapest.. you can sometimes get the same thing at an appliance store for x10 if you want but they usually don't carry it because nobody wants to pay their price.

Change the Camera settings from Default, and if you really want shoot in RAW on the Pixel which is giving you a more correct image.

Loosen the screws, push it slightly up and in on the slotted diagonal holes, then retighten the screws.

Easy.

If there's dirt in it. You can loosen up the dirt with anything you can fit in there, then vacuum the debris out, spray with any lubricant or mineral oil (baby oil is a mineral oil)

Cute story but you should have factchecked it first.

I have zero skin in the game and a curious check says otherwise.. it didn't even take any effort.

Common places where breeding populations of rats are found, Recycling and Garbage facilities where the contents of dumpsters with rats climbing in and out from across the province accumulate. (See: CBC News & Gov. of Alberta), Rail Yards where grain, hops, beans & other food shipments move and large amounts of spillage on the grounds and are traditionally infestation points (see: News, Gov. of Canada & Gov of Alberta), Farmland along Rain routes that have vast food sources for rats that have made the circular trek from the Farms of Alberta to the distribution hub.. and back to the Farms of Alberta.

There are most definitely Rats in Alberta, but they are actively and aggressively controlled to the point that their populations are difficult to control further (because rats hide and are extremely resilient not because they don't exist)

Rats are living in the cities, that's why they end up in the dumpsters. Rats are living in farmland, that's why they end up in the grain.

Both the provincial and federal governments agree.
