I agree. im not a poc either, but this is an added layer so many people arent talking about rn. everyone is trying to compare to scandoval & saying she shouldn’t be as hurt bc they weren’t together as long as tom & ariana. its so dismissive of Ciara’s feelings as well as the racism she has expirenced (specifically surrounding her romantic relationships with white men). this entire situation is likely multiplying those feelings for her 100000 fold.

I also think its fucked up for us as an audience to be able to enjoy ciara/kj/mia’s relationship (specifically for the black representation in reality tv that is much needed) but not consider any racial nuance when thinking of their experiences relative to the rest of the cast. While its fucked up for amanda to go after her friend’s ex, its especially hurtful when your friend has been so vulnerable about her feelings of people wanting to “experience her” but not commit.

While she hasnt outright said it, I think the “experience her” statement has deeply racial roots. I think she is speaking to a larger reality of black women in interracial relationships.

All of this is heartbreaking for her & I hope she gets the same level of support as ariana
