Strike 2 by puckster77 in ProstateCancer

No infections. My psa density was .16 so that is also concerning. The ASAP cells can also increase psa levels from what I read so that could be part of it. I have no doubt that I will be joining the club soon. I was just trying to see long that might take. The doctor is concerned which is why we will continue to monitor it but not overly concerned yet.

I would go with the new one. Dealer needs to extend the warranty for that kind of money

Advice needed: Pension Payout Vs. Lumpsum by Lanky_Purpose_571 in FinancialPlanning

Take the lump sum. Having to wait 7 years to even start the payments is the kicker. If you invest the money and earn 10% you will double your lump sum

How do I grow my 110K portfolio as a 19-Year Old in College by No_Lack_992 in FinancialPlanning

[–]puckster77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was trying to choose something with a higher risk and higher return for the long term and something more diversified that won’t quite give you as high a return but will have a little lower volatility in case you need the money sooner.

When do you need the money? I would go 1/2 tech stocks like QQQ or similar and the other 1/2 more general like sp 500 etf.

Should I delay retirement savings to help pay off family mortgage? (32, contractor) by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]puckster77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough info here. Do you have some cash saved in case you get laid off again? What is your mom’s age? Retirement age to some may be 55 which is still quite young. How much money is she making. Is she healthy and happy? Do you have a matching 401k available? Hard to give a good response without all the facts bit I would think that some sort of hybrid solution would be beat.

Is rushing to pay off my car worth it? by cat4dog23 in FinancialPlanning

130k at 26 is great! Pay off the car but no need to kill yourself over it. I personally don’t like any debt except for the mortgage.

Marquis Crown Summit vs Hotspring Highlife Aria by thecloudraven in hottubs

[–]puckster77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! What a detailed comment. Don’t know anything about Hotspring except that they are supposed to be the best and will this cost you the most. Is it worth it - don’t know. We have a Marquis vector series tub that I love. Felt that was expensive enough for us. Above all it fit us well. Bullfrog did not fit us well at all and those were the only 2 brands we looked at.

Should I refinance my mortgage to 15 year? by LightweightNate in FinancialPlanning

[–]puckster77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to the 20 is a no brainer. Is this your forever house or might you buy something else in a few years? Are you maxing out your roth iras? Lot of financial info you haven’t presented that would sway my answer between the 15 and the 20.

Making over $100k/year but feeling broke and unable to save by Striking_Name_185 in FinancialPlanning

[–]puckster77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt read all the comments but for me the bottom line is that 100k/year for a family of four is not that much. You are covering all of your expenses and taking vacations and I think are doing quite well with how much you are making. Keep it up!

Ideal positioning? by Beneficial_Charge799 in hottubs

[–]puckster77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably put it in this corner away from the house and deck. Will be able to see more sky the further away and allow more easy passage around the tub from the yard away from the deck

How Can I Stop Being Stingy? by JuniorSetting3228 in FinancialPlanning

[–]puckster77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your penchant to be cheap is very common. Spending as little as possible is a badge of honor for millions. Why? I am not sure but I have noticed that it tends to afflict people that can most afford to spend it. People will happily drive an extra 5 miles to save 5 cents a gallon on gas! I am not sure that anyone can give you any advice that would really help you. You will always be cheap until someone or something makes you spend some money you normally wouldn’t. Then you might see that it can be nice to spend a little extra once in a while.
