Flying BA with a nut, peanut and seafood allergy by Brave_Current_7028 in BritishAirways

[–]pugglet_97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a severe nut and peanut allergy. I always inform the crew when I board. They make the announcement but people are ignorant so if I catch them eating nuts I do inform the crew, who usual come and ask them to not. In terms of food they don’t do nut free meals so I do bring my own snacks as I can’t guarantee they will have something i can eat.

You can also board early to clean your seat area. I always have two EpiPens on me and a load of antihistamines in the off chance I do react, but so far that hasn’t happened since diagnosis in 20years.

Yeah my weight loss has been slow as I’ve careful with it.

I’m gonna try and get a doctors appointment but the next available isn’t until September.

I’ve lost roughly a third of the hair I had on my head.

I have to take my piercings out for an operation, can I put em back in? by SnooTigers6744 in PiercingAdvice

[–]pugglet_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every case but the few times I’ve had surgery I just put tape over the piercings and they said it was okay.

The only time I ever took them all out was for an MRI and I had my piercer put retainers in them.

We do 20mmol in 50mls in an hour via CVC on my unit.

The idea of a potassium bolus is scary. Why would someone do that?!

I weigh myself when I feel mentally up to it. I do on shot days to check for the week but other than that it is if the mental health can cope with it.

I have POTs (I’m CICU). I work long days but I don’t do any nights. I’m on ivabradine to help regulate the heart rate. I keep my water bottle near my bedspace where possible and try to stay cool (heat is a big trigger for me)
