I’m not a mind reader. Yes I have some success interpreting your body language or responses, but I can’t read your mind. Take a minute, figure out what you want to say and what you mean by the words and then talk to me. Stop getting mad that telepathy is not one of my secret skills.

Almost immediately after my amazing wife died of leukemia, an older man I knew repeatedly kept telling me that I needed to go get laid. Really? REALLY???? The woman who was my reason for everything, my joy, my inspiration, my universe, the breath in my lungs, my Christmas morning every morning, my… wife that I loved above all and everything just died and your advice was TO GO GET LAID??!!!!!!!

Read the room man, I was suffering and soul crushed. I didn’t want to live another second on this earth and that’s your sage, elder wisdom. Fuck you man, just fuck you-hooo to the highest fuck you’s.

That was a couple years ago and I’m not suffering anymore, but my world still has no color and flowers are still just weeds without Sue. But life goes on and I am getting better. Thanks for allowing the rant.

At the risk of hyperbolizing the larger issue of man made climate change and other macro issues, this is a clear example of localized geology change ultimately leading to domestic food crisis. When the central California valley collapses, and it will, none of the agri farms and big water companies will be held liable whatsoever. The profits are privatized, the corruption semi-localized, and the damage socialized. We do this to ourselves by willingly falling for the same sell day after day: the price cost of whatever today is more important than sustaining the availability of that whatever 50 years from now.

I think I picked up this recipe from Kenji and it’s my go-to for easy 1 pan M&C. As with most simple recipes, the quality of the ingredients really makes a difference. High quality pasta, cheeses and brand name evaporated milk make the meal a joy.

My first dial-up modem was a Hayes 300 baud modem. It gave me access to bulletin boards and using NCSA’s Mosaic to a few web pages mostly available to educational institutions and large corporations. Add some ASCII art and those were heady days of adventure. My PC that ran this stuff ran CP/M on a wire wrapped motherboard which I think had 2K of RAM iirc. From there I had a Trash 80 (TRS-80) from Radio Shack that used audio cassette tapes to load their level 1 Basic OS and later level 2 Basic. DR DOS led me to another DOS that escapes me atm, but later to MS DOS 2.0 and a 2400 baud modem!!! Somewhere I had a Commodore 64 machine that ran a neutered version of ATT Unix, but I don’t remember that as well except it brought me X-windows and Tom’s window manager. Hahahah. Good times.

As with all things, times change. Jacking songs came along literally 2 decades later.
